I hope so. I think Toyota does better with this truck in states that are less traditional in nature. You generally see Asain or hispanics driving them here. All the good ol boys won't be caught dead in one.
I have purchased many trucks over the years and have owned two toyota trucks, 1 nissan, an old scout, and over 20 Ford trucks. The Ford trucks overall were the best for longevity and off road use.
Now, I have a real live comment regarding two of my closest friends who both bought Tundra's decked out with all of the goodies and the big engine. One would only buy Toyota's in his life and the other has always been a Ford person. Both are 2007 4X4 models, are the same color, have the same options, and both have problems with the bed shaking at around 60+ mph. Also, the limited slip in both of these Toyota's is funky. One of these trucks has 16,000 miles on it while the other has 2400. They have had no other problems to date.
I have a new 2007 F150 King Ranch Screw and it outperforms the Toyota Tundra in everyway except power. But -- once you get to past the posted speed limit both trucks can go fast, just one gets there faster and uses more gas. My KR gets 19.9 on the road if I stay on the speed limit of 60 or less, otherwise it gets about 18 if I push it at 70+. Also, I can use E-85, the Toyota's can't and now that it is only $2.22 in Denver and regular gas is $3.04, it is a deal. I have 2050 miles on my truck.
If I want 65 more horsepower, I will go for a Troyer Stage 2. And then the Toyota will not even have much to brag about on the power issue. Just my 2 cents worth.

my dad's tundra is amazing, great power and plenty of room, but my f150 is comin up on 90,000 miles and it rides like new, the tundra is great but i would never buy 1, i love ford to death. i think my dad payed 40,000 for his

I've driven an 07 Tundra 2x now, like it, but not more than my 06 FX4. Even had a Toyota service guy checking out my FX4 when I parked it next to a TRD on their lot ! IMO - the F150 is still a nicer looking truck, at least mine was when parked on Tundra row on their lot !
Ford and Toyota are the only console shift and leather trim captains chairs 1/2 tons available now - Dodge in 2009. IMO, they both have the nicest interiors available today in a truck. And as far as quality, my 04 FX4 and 05 Lariat had all kinds of power train issues, pcm reflashes, the 05 was the worst ( clutch packs in rear and drive shaft ) and had squeaks, rattles and an annoying steering column click. I wish a little tail gate issue was the only problems I had with first model year truck. Oh yea, and don't forget about the cam phasers in the 5.4's if we are going to start bashing early production 5.7L ( before 4/07 build date ) with the crank issue.
Both nice trucks, only time will tell on longevity. Still like my Ford better, no regrets but can't help thinking about I would have new rims and tires now instead of having to get a stage II package for it to get some ***** first. There obviously is a good market for stock performance 4x4's, they have taken some Ford customers, maybe Ford will get em back in 09 if they are listening.
