I work at a Toyota dealership.

In all honest truth. I really do like the new Tundra's and im not saying this because I work at Toyota but im saying it as in opinion. I have driven numerous amount of Tundras and they honestly have plenty of power and overall they are better built.

For instance, I have squeeks and rattles and when I get in a Tundra it very quite. No squeeks, rattles, etc... Yeah, it might be because my truck is 4 yrs old but still...

Oh and we do sell a lot of em. We are gurateed to sell at least 1 Tundra a day and multiples on a weekend.

Ya thats a great comparison, lets compare a 4 year old vehicle to a vehicle setting on the dealers lot. When they came out some of the guys in my home town bought them, they are using them as farm trucks. Pulling trailers hauling hay carrying cubes and what not, they have been ok, no major problems except one of them put 6 bags of cubes on the back of his truck with them partly on the tailgate and it cracked. Now they have had them for awhile and worked them pretty hard, still no major problems but things are starting to wear quicker than they did on my truck. There are noticeably more squeaks and rattles, one had the AC **** come off in his hand, and they don't handle weight in the bed as well as my truck. Put 25- 30 bags of cubes in the back and the truck starts to sway in the rear over bumps while my truck still feels solid. All in all I think its great that Toyota made a full size truck, for the first year and the first model they have made a real nice truck. I think the competition is great and will only make the Fords better, however I still don't think that when it comes to hard work that the Tundra will last like a F-150 will, but we will find that out in 3-4 years.

Well, I have an 04 F150 Screw with 85,000 on it, and she's been put through hell. All I have done is Syntec every 5k, fuel filter every 10k, tranny flush/filter every 30k.

I have had no issues, she's been SC1714 Tuned since 12,000 with CAI, and exhaust. Absolutley no issues what so ever. OOOooppp's I take that back, I had to replace the taillight bulb a few weeks ago. Umm $3.97 for the repair.

I think it's safe to say that the durability of the Tundra will show up after several thousand miles. All trucks drive great, and rattle free when they are new-semi new. (Except Dodge! )

Everyone jumps and are quick to tell us how Fast the tundra's are.... GREAT... just means you'll be going that much quicker when it falls apart around you. Starting with the TailGate!!

I forgot.. had brakes put on her as well. Surprised me that I had to do it. She's so underpowered and weak being that it's an f150 I didnt think I would even have to worry about using any brakes. Hmmm...

My F-150 just hit 119,000 on the ticker and it's the honest truth that I haven't had a single problem with it. The truck has never been to the shop for any problems. Regular maintenance has kept her running good for me.

My dad had the truck before me and put 80,000 miles on it. He kept up with the maintenance on it and gave it to me last May for a graduation present. Since then I have put around 40,000 miles on it and I take pride in taking care of my truck. I know plenty of "guys" around here that drive nice trucks but don't know the first thing about proper maintenance or even what size engine their truck has It's saddening to see it, they just get em lifted and drive em around as street queens that never see work.

I do not baby my truck, I use it as it was intended. I'm in college 3 days a week and the other 2 I'm doing construction, logging, helping with baseball practice, towing, and other things.

We only own Ford vehicles, mom has a 2006 Explorer, dad bought him a 2007 King Ranch F-150, I have a 2004 XLT F-150, My first truck was a 1992 Bronco XLT. Tried the other brands but came back to the good 'ol time tested, proven Ford

Built Ford Tough

Did you see the Tundra's frame deflection? The F150's frame flexed less with 275lbs on the corner than the yota's frame with just it's own weight!!

Edit:
F150, static load: 0.287" of deflection
Tundra, static load: 1.297" of deflection
F150, 275lbs load: 0.857"
Tundra, 275lbs load: 3.232"

Threads like this cropping up just about every week are a testament to just how successful Toyota's marketing has been.

In southern California i can say i have seen more F150's on the road than tundra's and the Chevrolet's are the 2nd truck i see the most.

More guys on Camp Pendleton drive F150's than any other truck as far as i have seen..

My state makes up for it. Toyota met its quota EASILY in 07 for the Tundra. Look at how low F150s are going for. Dont you think it says something?

I'm no fan of the Tundra, hate it in fact. But the damn things are selling like wildfire.

Wildfire huh? I see maybe 3 a week here in Houston

Feb Tundra Sales 14,400
Feb f-150 sales 52,548

The Ford Ranger sold 7,431 units and that is a horribly outdated compact truck. The new to the market Tundra only sold 2x what the 10+ year old ranger sold. Please excuse the fact I am in no way impressed

The F-series sales vs Tundra sales, you are comparing all Ford fullsize trucks vs Toyota's 1500 pickup. Keep in mind, they are only producing about 200k a year or so.

I'd like to see a comparison for how much an average 08 tundra is going for compared to an 08 F150 right now. I bet the difference is several thousand.

Just here in Davis there are easily as many 07+ tundras as 04+ F150s. Its scary. Throughout the state they are littered, everywhere.

Yeah, a lot of Californians are dumb. They see the 381hp/401trq and they HAVE to have it. Toyota is racking in the dough out here, its ridiculous.

If Ford has an engine in 09 offering better numbers, Tundra sale will likely plumet and F150 sales will skyrocket...
