After more than 2 years, I have never washed my truck myself
Never took it to automatic carwash.

Some times I bring my own towels to the carwash for the guys to use them instead of theirs.

For starters, I do a full treatment twice a year, claying, cleaning, polishing and sealing. I use Zaino Brothers Show Car Polish products, and they are amazing on black paint. The chrome wheels get cleaned and polished monthly.

In warm weather, my first choice is to wash myself. I don't always have that kind of time, but do appreciate a clean truck, so it's off to the car wash every now and then. When I bring it home after a wash, I towel down with detail spray designed to prolong the life of the paint sealant.

During the winter, it goes through a car wash, BUT it's a brand new car wash that opened this fall. They have all the latest technology in there, and nobody touches the truck with a brush or a towel. They do a great job spraying off the truck with high pressure wands before it enters the tunnel. The material on the cleaning machines looks like microfiber. It's really soft. So far there are no car wash related scratches. Same routine when I get home. It's towel down with detail spray unless it's so cold the spray would just freeze!

I figure as long as I keep the paint protected, a mechanical carwash won't do any more damage than I would do myself driving through the woods.

Are you leveled or lifted? What tire/rim combo is that? Your truck looks great!! I havent seen another that has such a beefy tire/rim combo that fills up the wheel wells so nicely

Thanks

Its has 20'' Rims, 35'' MT Toyos.
Front Leveled and added 1'' of rear leaf
Thing is.., that I used "home made" spacers, that is, the workshop where I went create their own for customers work trucks that need more clearence, ofcourse I really really doubth they're computer engineered .
So the spacers may be a little too high cause I have noticed a slightly higher stance compared to other leveled trucks here.

Now I'm the only one who touches my truck!

Since I began reading the C&D forum here I have become a little obsessed with cleaning my truck. I'm the only one who touches it. (Except when the g/f wants to put the bikini on and help me.) She gets a tan and I get to watch.

I'm the only one to wash it, don't trust anyone else. Hell, I still park at the back of parking lots.....

Hey NCSU, was that a kit that you got or did you hunt all that stuff down separately? How much did all that run if ya don't mind me asking?

Always hand wash!

You just cannot trust machines anymore to run your truck through a car wash!

Being a woman, it surprises men that I spend around 4 hours cleaning her up!
Here is a picture I took yesterday, after spending around 4 hours cleaning her up

i wash mine as well, in fact i hand wash all my vehicles. that way, i can see all the scratches and mini dings/dents, rock chips ect. I hate open bed dump trucks and semi's..lol my front bumper looks like it has a slight case of acne. with all the paint chips out of it.
