Their is no way I would let someone touch mine. I do it myself and take my damn time. Now that I think about it I need to clay it and wax it soon. :/

I would never go through an automatic car wash even if they paid you like 5 dollars if you did it.

I wash my own truck, and for that matter do everything to it besides I got it aligned at the dealer. Did not really have the tools for that.

I am the only one that touches mine.

In the winter I hose it off once a week or so and wash it any chance I get (if it gets over 45 deg.)
The neighbors must think I am crazy when I am out with two buckets washing my truck in a hooded sweatshirt with gloves in 40 degree weather.

Wow, I'm suprised at you guys. I wash my own truck, unless I happen to pass a bikini car wash going on, then I'll pay to watch them wash it.

FWIW, when I come home with a super dirty dirt bike...my wife get's PO'd if I don't let her wash it. My dirt bike riding friends are jealous.

When I was up north for school, I once washed it with snow flakes coming down on my head

I wash mine if the weather is good. Take it through the touchless car wash if in a hurry. Same with my wifes Fusion.

I have a friend that owns a mobile detail company....and you've got to support local biz right...lol. He does such a great job (steam cleans the fender wells and frame etc...) I feel bad every time I call him cause I only pay $20 with tip. But other than that I don't trust anyone to my vehicles...expecially when they wash the wheels...like on the stang (at $850 per rim) I cant afford for some idiot at even a hand wash to clean them right.

I wash mine because it won't fit in any car washes. I don't like other people touching my truck, as stated earlier if you want it done right you have to do it yourself.

I used to be ignorant and take my black truck to the machine car washes I'd even stand by and watch the guys working there rub those dirty towels all over my truck to dry it off...

Needless to say I got sick of the spiderwebbing and whatnot so I went and checked out the Care & Detailing forum. After reading around there for a while I picked up some gear...

And with just a single day's work went from this..

to this...

Now I'm the only one who touches my truck!

Mine goes through the automatic car wash currently, after the lift, who knows. Part of the reason I got a truck is to get rid of my car I was a clean freak about. I also got a color that isn't horrible to take care of (redfire)

I agree with all the black truck owners though, don't let anybody else touch it! Black is the best looking color out there, until you let some minimum wage carwash kid swirl mark it up.

No one has ever washed my truck but me. I sometimes do it in my driveway but usually take it to the self-serve place. Even there, I use the two bucket method( I have a bucket with a divider in it). The car wash owner never complains as I spend more than I would if I did not bucket wash. He knows I'm his best customer. I carry all my stuff in a plastic milk crate, keep my microfiber towels in a plastic bag. I detail it there at the wash. Usually takes 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Longer if in the driveway.

I have never washed my truck. I take it to a local place that only does hand car washes. I get my truck professionally detailed, paint sealed, claybared, ect once a year. It has worked out well so far
