Actually the 07+ sit lower in the rear than the 04/05. They have 1 less leaf spring.

Great, now I'm totally confused.

I have a '07 Screw 4X4 and I bought a 2.5" A.S. kit but have been waiting to install it until the spring when I get some new wheels. My truck is more of a daily driver and I don't haul anyting. So what you guys are saying is that a 2" kit would level my truck better that a 2.5"? Is there really that much of a difference?

Somebody must have a 2.5" on an '07 somewhere, speak up!!

same ride heights from 2004-2008

the only ride height difference is when going from a 4x2 to a 4x4...the difference in leaf spring #'s is due to change in ride quality and I believe something about squeaking, the new leafs are re-arched to maintain same height

the 4x2 front coil-overs are 1-1/2" shorter
the 4x2 rear axle does NOT have the 1-5/8" block

a 4x2 with 3" leveling kit will sit pretty close to level. a 4x4 with 2.5" kit will sit 99% level...every now and then they sit nose high though

I dont have anything, and now I am really wanting something...

Does the Add a Leaf make the rear end stiffer? Probably a dumb question, but I am not sure how the rear end works, suspension wise. Does it have no affect on the shocks?

I installed the 1.5 inch long AAL from Pro Comp with a little stiffer ride, but not bad at all. The shocks will still work with the AAL since there is enough droop. The only time that the shock "hung" was while doing some minor offroading stagger-crossing a ditch.

I have posted before about the AS spacers and the different amounts of lift that Kevin experiences at Autospring. Basically, there can be as much as 1 inch difference between identical model trucks with the same size spacer.

On paper and in theory, yes. But in real life and many people's expierences are proving that a 2" Autospring is closer to level on a 06+, while a 2.5" Autospring was level on the 04/05's. There are exceptions. I am assuming this is due to the 1 less leaf spring. I have installed 4 sets on different 04 - 07's and this is my finding as well. That and on every truck the 2" A.S. has netted closer to 2.5" of lift, while the 2.5" Leveling kit is netting closer to 3" of lift. This is for the Autospring leveling kits. On my 2005 FX4 my 2.5" A.S. netted more lift than my 3" Skyjacker that I had in it as well.

I have a 1.5 on my 2005 Supercrew, and it's pretty darn near level.

btw, eBay is the only source for the AS kit, but you can also buy it from them directly if you're near Idaho

Auto Spring eBay Page
I have the 4wd. It sits perfectly level after the install. FWIW, its the Heavy Duty F150.

Thanks for the reply. I think the route that I am going to choose is a 2in block for the rear, and then a 2 in AS spacer in the front. I want larger tires, and I do not want the 6in lift kit look. I think by doing 2 inches in the front and rear, I will have a truck that looks more aggresive than stock. I really like the truck that I have seen in this thread. It seems that every King Ranch that I see in Dallas, looks just like mine. I need to do something.
