Leveling kit ?????

I got rid of the 06 lease and bought a 07 STX 4x4 scab left-over. I wanna get a leveling kit for it. The questions are: What's the difference between Daystar and Auto-spring, and which is better for longevity? Has anybody installed the leveling kit only or does everyone also add a leaf also? What makes the truck sit level? Thanks.

daystar is polyurethane and autospring is steel. both are great kits and autospring seems to be a favorite around here. if you use a 2.5" spacer then you are going to need to use an AAL due to the fact that the 06+ have less factory rake then the 04-05. if you go with a 1.5" you wont need to use an AAL

Agreed. The Autosprings are MUCH easier to install as it bolts to the top of your coilover. The daystar goes inside of your coilover which requires the coilover to be taken apart.
Also, a 2" Autospring will make a 06 pretty much level. If you ever put anything in the box or tow trailers often your front will always be pointing up. That's why I ended up putting a AAL in the rear. Sits perfect for me now.

It took a AS 2.5" for my 2006 FX4 to sit perfectly level.

2wd?

the 4wd sits perfectly level with a 2.5"

the 2wd has 1" shorter coil-overs from the factory...so the 3" will get you close, but not quite there. the 2wd also doesn't have the 1.5" block on the rear axle

btw, eBay is the only source for the AS kit, but you can also buy it from them directly if you're near Idaho

I bought my Top Gun leveling kit on Ebay for $75. It also fits on top of the coilover. Just another option.

Before I put the 2" on my 07' the back was exactly 2 inches higher that the front. After the 2" autospring leveling kit my front is exactly 1/4" higher than the back.

Those 20's are just sick!!! Almost makes me second guess my 18's.

I've got an AS 2.5" and it looks pretty level to me. If anything, my front end may be a tad higher now.

I have a 1.5" AS on my 2005 SuperCrew and the rear end sits ~.5" higher than the front. Perfect stance for me, and when I throw something in the bed or attach a trailer I don't look like a boat waiting to plane off.
