Smokestone with Mark LT chrome handles?
Anyone have pics of a smokestone truck with Mark LT chrome handles installed? If so, please post them or a link to your gallery.
I have an '06 Lariat SCrew 4x4 and am considering adding Mark LT handles, but would like to see any pics you guys have of them installed on that color truck.
Thanks in advance for any replies!

Here ya go......

Makes a W O R L D of difference!!!! Especially on the VERY RARE Smokestone.
PS: If you plan on going with a bug deflector, don't do it unless it's clear!!!!!! I had a dark deflector and it really looked bad against the lighter Smokestone. The clear really lets all the brilliance of the color shine through! It's nearly invisible too. Below you can see, or actually NOT see how inconspicuous it really is.....
And for those who claim it's "silver", well, about all i can say is GET YOUR MONITOR CALIBRATED......

Much thanks to each of you guys for the pics! And very nice looking trucks!
rms8... Very nice! Man, that is sweeeeeeet!
The improvement from stock black is very obvious. I was afraid of that. Actually, my buddy Stragum found and sent a link to your gallery right after I posted. Oh, too late on the bug shield, but thanks for the info. I like that.
thenewbreed... No, not the same color, but thanks for your reply nonetheless. rms8 & labman1014 have smokestone. Nice looking truck though!
Now the tough part. Any recommendation on where I might find the best price on these?

Very nice looking truck man!!! Thanks for the pics. I also noticed your mud guards. I have some that seem to be the same type (have had them for a while & haven't installed them yet), but was wondering how they would look if left black. Yours seem to look good from the pics. Are you happy with them? Do you remember if additional holes need to be drilled to attach them? I've been hesitant about installing them for fear that I may not like them once they're installed.

Thanks for the compliments.
I honestly don't remember if I had to drill additional holes or not. My mud guards are the factory Ford rigid type. I have seen some trucks where they were painted and did NOT like it, unless perhaps the truck was already a dark color, like DARKSTONE....LOL
Rest knowing the chances of you pulling up to or even seeing another SMOKESTONE F150 are VERY SLIM. That color was ONLY offered for 2006, and ONLY on the Larait. To me, it is by far one of the most attractive colors for this truck (I also love the White Sand Tricoat). In day light it seems a champaign like color, and under the street lights in the evening it is almost an iridescent silvery color! It may not be a "tough" type color, more geared towards a classier sort of ride.
The factory 20's REALLY set it apart too! I got the 20's with the King Ranch hubcaps since the centercap color almost matches the truck from a distance. The 2006 didn't offer the Navagation system, but I got the OEM Nav unit from a 2007 from a member on this forum that sells them (he's an authorized Ford retailer/installer).
The only things I "wish" I had on this truck would be the 6.5' bed (flare side at that !), heated seats and dual zone climate control. Other than that, my truck is absolutely perfect for me. I see myself keeping this truck for a very long time.
that "smokestone" looks exactally like my "pueblo gold" finish. is "smokestone" a nickname for "pueblo gold" or is it another color all together?
btw smokester06, those handles sets the truck off reeeeeal nice!

I knew '06 was the first year Smokestone was offered but wasn't aware it was the last. I really like the color. I have the 6.5' bed & am happy with it. I knew I would be putting a toolbox in mine & wanted the extra space. Looks good I think (guess I need to post some pics). I also like the 20s, but will be ready to replace the Pirelli's w/ some larger tires, like 295's or 305's.
You like the Nav system? Have any pics of it installed? What was the cost & who was the member you got it from?
Any recommendation on where I can find the best price on those Mark LT handles?

Sorry for the dark pics…..The OEM Ford unit talks to you and says the street names, exits….VERY nice system. You can get the same features (probably more too) with an aftermarket HU, but you won’t get that factory look/feel. The member on this forum is “nothinbutaford”. He can be reached at 978-815-5111. I think the price was $1500 at most. I got my LT handles from Ford, but my buddy is a Ford Service manager, so he got them at his cost (very cheap!). So I really don’t know how much they are over the counter.

Seriously, if you can take it back, DO IT! If not just get the clear one anyway and sell the dark one. It is a HUGE difference (as evidence by the pics). The dark shield just strays/contrasts SO much from the classy looks of the Smokestone color.
I sold my dark shield to a member on this site. Just post it up for sale while you're installing the new Clear shield
