Here we go again... Changing your front end geomotry by forcing your upper and lower control arms down won't cause premature wear? C,mon!!!!!!! My 2WD NEVER did off roading. And at 74k highway miles, the upper ball joints are real sloppy. Gee, what do you think it was then?

Did mine myself, just get the proper tools before hand and you should be able to knock it out yourself in a few hours. Do it now before the rust sets in and you'll save yourself about an hour or so. Heres a before and after to get you all fired up to take it on yourself

I did mine myself. It took about 2 hours to complete. I did one side at a time rather than jacking the whole truck up. This is a really simple project. Here's some money shots.

The spacers

Before

After

With new tires

but you do have to worry about ball joints

I will agree that leveling kits do not RUIN ball joints but they do put more STRESS on them making them more susceptible to being worn out or like in my case seperating.

man, I paid $350 for a pro comp 2.5" leveling kit for a 4x4 shop. Sounds like I really overpaid, only thing is the three shops that do that kind of stuff were all the same price. I think the pro comp is much more pricey than the autosprings (why r they so cheap), and I still have to get it aligned. I found it made my truck stiffer up front.

I installed mine myself, had it on for a while, then took it off myself.

Why did you remove it and what size was it?

And to stay on topic... I had a friend of my brother's install it at his shop today for $100. To me it was worth the piece of mind to know it was installed by a professional and that if he ruined something it would be covered. I could have done it myself, but I didn't want the hassle. Plus, I won enough money at the casino last week to cover it.

It was a 2", I sold it to another member here. I removed it because I didn't like the look. I had an 1.5" AAL in the rear with a 2" AS in front. I liked it at first, but it wasn't what I was looking for with a 2wd ultimately.

Right now I am at a 2"x4.5" drop.
