Replacement 2wd tires, what has everyone got?

I have an 04 f150, 5.4L, 2wd, 31XXX miles and the Contitracs are about shot. My only question is what tires is everyone here running? I am haveing a hard time finding load range D tires, mostly pmetrics and E. I did find the D in the General Ameritrac but have not been fond of these tires in the past. Right now I pull a 3,300# popup, but I want to stick with a truck tire due to upgrading the trailer in the next next year or two.

Well i have a 305/70/17 on my 2wd but I have the 2.5" leveler on the front.....I think you can go bigger than 265's even without the lift...wandell is good at these tire questions...

Sir Wandell is the one who said 265/70/17 for a 4x2 without lift, but I'm listening if some else has a comment for a non-leveled 4x2

I have the 255/65/17's, I was looking at that size or the 245/70/17's, theyare the closest size (.4" shorter) withoutgoing too extreme. That is about the max I want to go, thatks for the advice, keep it coming!

I have a lowered 2wd and use that same tire size. Uniroyal laredo, great inexpensive tire. I plan on using the same heigth tire (31.6) when I get 22's.

I have the Pirelli Scorpion STRa's, I forget the size, with about 15K on them and I love them! No visible tread wear at all. They are inflated to 65psi and have been since I got them. My only complaint is they hold rocks like God's gonna quit making them, that is untill I hit the highway. I also have a GroundForce 2" drop shackle in the rear and the oversize tires really fill the wells nicely.
