The Edge is nice. My brother just traded in his 2007 Volvo XC90 for one. He got the SEL Plus, I think. Moonroof, nav, leather, sync, the works. I drove one a while back at the Ford dealer and I liked it also. I am too far buried to get out of my car right now, so I have to wait.

Wow, after reading what some of you guys pay for insurance I realize how lucky I am. I pay 657 a year for my 05 fx4 and I'm only 23. The truck is listed as a work vehicle through my dad's excavating company =P.

Wow
350 a month for insurance, thats insane.
I only pay 175/mo for 3 vehicles, my 07 FX4, the wifes 05 V-8 exploder, and a 01 cavelier that the 18 y.o. drives.

Nice looking little Edge you got! We are looking around for a another vehicle for the soon to be wife, we looked at the Edge and I thought that they were very nice!

As for insurance, I guess that I am lucky to pay 1678 for the year for all of our vehicles. That is full coverage on my 04 F150, 05 Focus, and both 4wheelers, liablity and comp on my 94 F150 with $500 deductable on everything. For just the 2 truck we pay $885 for the year. But I am 28 with a clean driving record, and my fiance is 26 with 1 ticket.

And out of curiosity, why is your insurance so high -- $350.00 a month?!
I had, being the key word, a lead foot... few tickets and two accidents, one not my fault... I live in a 24 hour town; Las Vegas, and I am not married and am 23...

All the major components that insurance looks into... throws up a red flag... actually this was the cheapest I could find actually everyone else wanted like 450-500 a month.... but this car should change it... not a huge truck, not a V-8, and from what I read it was the number #1 pick for safest cars thru the insurance companies....

Didn't you just trade in a '06 F-150 for your '07 F-150?
Nope that wasn't me... I was planning to get a SD though but will wait til later in my life....

cool, get those tails tinted
Tinted tails ofcourse... but thought about the baking method and doing PTM on the chrome areas.... and I still want to do the projector retrofit...

Wow I thought I was the only one paying 650 a month plus 350 for insurance. But I spend way more then 300 on gas a month. I'm 22 and its killing my fun but every time I get in my truck I dont think about how much its costing its only money and you only live once by the way
Your right you do only live once, but right now i want financial peace and will be more stable in a few years to get the vehicle of my dreams... I hated knowing that 7/8th's of my income was going towards the truck... I will have an extra 500 bucks now, and that will help with putting it in a savings account...

Oh and PimpRohr if you read this, thanks so much for the advice on suggesting reading a few books by Dave Ramsey, this was the first step for me... "sell the car"... but with the extra money i will start saving I hope to hit the first baby step of getting a $1000 emergency fund... I actually got all his CD's and am listening to them in the new car

Those things don't get all that great fuel mileage either, FWIW. Most of my customers say they average about 16-18 in Edges and MKXs in mixed driving.

Congrats on the new ride. It always makes sense to make sure you are in a financial position that you are comfortable with. And its not like the 07 Edge is a beater or anything. That is still a nice ride.

You will be happy having some extra money in a savings account, especially in today's uncertain economy!!!

KBB which was 25K... still owed 33 so I had to put down a nice chunk to save me... I made the mistake of not putting anything down on the truck, which i am now going to be upside down on this one, but hey i can manage this payment after forking out the 650 for the last 13 months... I will buy used from now on, a one to two year old car that has lost its depreciation... There are some great deals on used cars, and honestly the Edge has 17K miles on it, but the car still has the leather smell hmmmm gotta love that smell
