What tuner would fit my needs?

Here's what I want:
  • Able to re-calibrate spedo for tire size
  • Read check engine trouble codes
  • Modest power tunes
  • Able to revert to factory settings

Here's what I got:
  • 2004 5.4L F150 Lariat SuperCrew 2x4
  • 47,000 miles
  • K&N Drop-in filter
  • Dual Exhaust (FlowMaster 40 Series)
  • AutoSpring 2" Leveling Kit
  • 305/65/18 BFG T/A KO

Here's what I don't got:
  • A lot of money

Any suggestions? I don't need anything fancy, and plan to keep my vehicle for a long time (200K+).

Edge Evo, mine has worked great. You could find one in the classifieds on this site for probly under $300

The edge can do what you want plus adjust shift point's to improve drivability with taller tires. Mine has been great so far on level 2 with 87 octane gas.

The Edge should fit you very well. I really enjoy mine.

Thanks for the replies. So I am looking at $350 to $450 (unless I find a used one)? Thought I could get away with something less expensive for my minimal needs.

I know this gets asked a lot but is the Edge Evo really worth it? I mean does it give you a big improved in performance? I have the 5.4 with the 3.55LS in a SCREW. I upgraded my tire size just a little to make it look better. Performance is dismal, to say the least. It gets from point A to B but is no fun. At the light, I wouldn't attempt to race a dumptruck, really. I don't mind forking the 400 bucks if I will be able to brag about it. Right now, I'm lucky to spin the tires turning out on the road going downhill in the rain(I'm kidding a little but it's close).

I've never seen before and after dyno results for any of these tunes in a can.

That tells me something right there.

Well, after re-evaluating my finances, I don't think a tuner (xcaliber2) would be the best use of my money right now.

However, I am afraid to ask how much a computer reprogram for larger tires would be from the dealership. Anyone care to guess?

I got a superchip in my truck before the edge came out. And I am really happy with it.
