04MY vs. 07 or 08MY

There are too many people on here saying the truck is a dog, it's slow, you can't break your tires loose, and so on and so on. Keep in mind, it is a truck, Ford's intention was not to make a race car, but to make a truck capable of towing, hauling, whatevering. But if you still aren't pleased with the power your truck has, trade it in, get a Dodge (good luck with the tranny...), or buy yourself a Chebby (I love how they made it nice and low so my Gramma can hop in easier), or hell, drop the American market and go foreign. I hear the Tundra's have a really nice tailgate that only crumples if you rest something on it more than 4 times!
MY personal experience is I feel for a 6000+ pound vehicle, it IS quick. It has good power all around, great low end torque, and yes, I am able to break em loose, not that I go around looking to peel out. And when I do, no, I don't sit there and spin. The rears break loose, spin for 2 or 3 seconds, and then it hooks. I'll have to start using the cam to show what it is doing...
But I'm glad you got a laugh out of it fwiw

Ryan...
Same thing on my end. My 08 sounds way better and runs better than my 05. Its not night and day diff. but it does run better. My old man is the GM at a ford dealership and he thinks the same thing with the 08's. Its a pretty credible source since he always drives lincolns or 150's for his demos.
So for all the non-believers out there, go drive an 08 and drive an older comparable 150 you too will see the difference.

thanks marwilli1. exactly what I was getting at. it's not as if you are going from a N/A to an S/C. but there is definately a difference. maybe the people who can't peel or burn or feel their truck is a dog just don't know how to drive and when their ecm's were "learning" their driving skills in the beginning stages, they didn't "teach" them very well
