Many people here had FORD replace their plugs, & when they snapped, FORD did not do crap.........except issue a $1800.00 bill for a head job......

Ok, well, almost did the stall-out at a light today. Called Troyer guy, and he said to gap at .40 (no more than .42 because Brisk's won't run at anything higher than that). Interestingly enough, Ford calls for a .55-.5? on this. Anyways.

I ordered the Autolites today. I'm going to pull the plugs Saturday (.....) and either:

Regap at .40 (which i don't think will cure my really rough idle) and reinstall

or

Install the autolites and put the Ford COPS back on.

I just don't want to do one, and then have to take everything back off to do it over again...

You might as well, just get a set of FORD OEM plugs, put them in with anti-seize, & wait another 100,000mi to pull them......the Autolights are no better than OEM from what I hear...............

Yeah, i got them from advance auto parts for about $11 a plug.

I'm doing this tomorrow. I have my 2nd to last exam today... I'll get a good video of me pulling the plug, and take a pic as to what the brisk's look like with 100 miles... haha.

click here for a good price on motocraft plugs

if you decide to change to autolite or motocraft, then id be more then happy to try the brisks with the correct gap, because i believe that is your problem, if your running that plug at .55 and they only recomend.45 then whats happening is the spark isnt making it all the way, also the reson your truck recomends .55 and brisk recomends .45 is because it is a different design

I've got them gapped @ .35 right now. Mike said that that was a good gap, but .40 is better and .42 the Brisk's will not run at anything over that.

I'm going to put the factory COPS on it and regap at .40 tomorrow am. of course, i'll bring my laptop and post!

I think it's the COPS right now...

We'll know for sure tomorrow! I just hate to have to swap the plugs if it doesn't idle perfectly tomorrow. Oh well. Live and learn!

Can you provide me a link? b/c if there are others that have this issue, I will slap in the Autolites and save myself a lot of trouble!
