I put mine in the oven, took them apart and painted them gloss black. Cost $10.00 and looks and works great!

Awesome...thanks for setting that straight for me guys!!

I noticed on the "build your truck" function, when you select the 20" wheels, it defaults you back to 3.55 gears, but then it will let you go back to the other page and re-select 3.73 gears and not make you give up your 20's. I have never seen a FX4 with 20" wheels and 3.55 gears. I'm sure it's just coincidence of the ones I've personally looked at, but they've all had 3.73's.

Not to switch gears but do you guys have the same problem I've always had with salesmen?? I mean, I've never needed a salesman to buy a vehicle and by the time I'm ready to purchase, I know everything there is to know about the vehicle anways, but dang...come on!! Seems like here lately it's getting worse. I mean these guys really, literally don't know crap about the product they are selling. It really is rediculous.

how did you get the buckets to reseal without leaking? and could you point me at a thread or something that details what you did? I like the look of your lights...especially as I'm doing a white/black theme with my truck

nope, I noticed it also. they're handy when it comes to stupid things like underseat storage...but completely useless for engine spec's, ratings, etc.

You apparently missed the above posts where the dealers were full of 20" 3.73 equipped FX-4s...

It's just that the 3.55 is standard with the 20" wheel package, the 3.73s are an option.

Give as many details as to how exactly this was done.

#1. How did you get them in the oven? (what temp, for how long?)
#2. How did you prep the surface? What did you mask?
#3. How did you get it to go back together without leaking?

That is a mod I would like to do to mine in a different color...

240 degrees for 10 min.
I sanded but you don't need to if you use Kylon paint for plastics
silicone to seal.

I will keep this short because the link below has 11 pages on pics and how to do. How I did it is on page 10. Check it out and if you have any questions, feel free to ask. This is a AWESOME MOD for cheap. You will see some did other colors besides black.
