I Too might be selling

What can I expect to get for my truck? Should I go off of KBB + half of my mods that I cant take out or what. I will be demoding the truck some mainly stereo but should I leave my coilovers on as a major selling point because of how well they ride? Should I try selling it whole to a privet buyer first and leave the nav and JL/rainbow stereo, with all the suspension? I dont want to sell my truck but I am board with it and its a pain to park anywhere as well as 12MPG isnt fun, but my dad has his SD that he never drives expect to tow our race trailer so unless hes racing its just sitting waiting for me to use.

without knowing the mileage, cosmetics or Oasis reports... ballpark $20,ooo with the nav and stereo , springs left on it.
that's a start, I just bought one so I researched the market recently.. I started with a 07 for 19,995 but most are in the $21,ooo range,, I found an 04 Lariat on ebay for $12,500 high miles. Looked at an 05 FX4 lariat with some mods for $19,500 a fresh trade in at Ford dealer..
Note that I am in Georgia/ S Carolina region, and I looked at only Scabs
I got mine for $13,600 >>
04 XLT 51K miles, it was the tightest one I drove out of 7 trucks.

Seems like all of them have rearend whine at 50 mph, all of them have a wiggle shake vibration at random times, all feel heavier than a F-250 of the same year.

Also seems to be a big variance in gas mileage, with no consistant pattern as to model, 4.6 or 5.4, 4X4 or whatever. I read here of 5.4 4X4 getting 18-20, then a 4.6 2wd at 13-14, then visa versa.... modualar engines must be very particular at the breaking in period.

With the gas going up daily I expect the KBB to go down on these trucks just like they did right after Katrina. I saw the value of my Silverado go down 4K during that peroiod then months later it returned to almost what it was before Katrina.
I see a 2005 Honda Civic is now valued more than they sold new for

I'm asking $32,000 for mine and I've got $16,000K into it.

A local dealer just sold a 05 Lariat Screw 4x4 with 31,000 miles on it for $27,500.

that sounds way to high. if i were to sell mine i just hit 50k miles, and have a solid 10k invested i would sell for 25 tops. i dont think i would sell for anything higher than that.

One thing to remember, if you're listing your truck for more than the blue book value, the buyer will have to come out of his pocket to bridge the gap. As one member alluded to in another thread, the bank doesn't recognize mods.

I'm not trying to be an *** or anything, but will you tell them about the accident? Or is it not even worth mentioning?

this is true
depending on how fast you want to sell it, there is that perfect buyer you are looking for that would give exactly what you want inside reason..BUT to sell it to the group of people, like ME two months ago, you should stay close to BB value, look around the net for what the high and low selling prices are, because they are.
With the mods, the FX4 I looked at had nice upgrades (nerfs top and bottom, catback exhaust, black diamond box, CAI, nerf hitch step, tint) that made me think, hey cool I wont have to buy this and this and this later... BUT again, lol.. that also can bite you in the astroturf because it makes the truck seem hot rodded and makes the potential buyer wonder why it is for sale.

If I go KBB I would have to take most everything off there is no way my truck with coilovers and nav will be going for bluebook.

I couldn't possibly see paying a penny more than blue book. Mods. count for jack in my book. I mod. my stuff, but it's for me, by me. Take off as many of the mods. as is easily done and lower the price. Sell the mod. stuff here or ebay. BTW - I got my bone stock ( except tonneau cover and bed liner) '04 Lariat Screw 4x4 w/sunroof and loaded last Nov. w/16K miles and warranty left on it for 24K, which at the time was 1 or 2K under blue book. Times are tough and gas isn't getting cheaper, so your price unfortunately is way high. Good luck with however you decide to roll.....

You would be surprised. I've tried selling super modded motorcycles and most of the time, people were scared of them thinking they had been misused drag racing. They'll probably think yours have been driven hard off-roading or something.

Good points. When I'm buying, if it's been modded, and I even bother to look at it, I always wonder who did the work? Was it done right? Why are they selling it? How hard did they wheel this thing? If you don't want to remove the mods., the best bet, no joke, is to find some spoiled little turd who's parents will just shell out anything so he gets what he wants. You'll probably get top dollar. I've seen little 16yo's get Denalis. It's nuts, but true.

After you see my truck people wont think it has been wheeled hard, which it wasnt ,I just got it fully polished/waxed no scratches or dents anywhere and the interior looks new. People never believe me when I tell them its an 04 in this kind of shape.

I went down to 25k 22k plus mods 2k Ill go 24 as is but I am keeping my subs and amps those will still work in my next car, also I got my rear foxes off and will try and sell them off just leaving the donahoe coilovers and went back to the donahoe rear shocks to sell it. If all else ill put the crap white body shocks in rear and the spacers up front
