Poll:Broken plugs vs non broken plugs

Ok, let's see if it's possible to get a better idea about just how much of an issue this really is. There have been so many threads devoted to this topic I thought the time was right to do this. Just simply tell us if your plugs broke when they were removed or not.

Yes, even 1 broken plug out of 8 puts you in the "this is a problem" group.

Mods, maybe sticky this so everyone who checks in the '04-present forum can vote. Better yet make it a real poll.

I had mine changed after reading all the horror stories. I only had 23000 miles
on my truck and the dealer didn't want to do it but after I got extremely
angry and told them they are a Ford dealer and they should be able to
change the plugs on a Ford they sold me they did it. All came out with no
problems.

I was going to wait till we actually got a poll but I guess I'll throw down as well. I've pulled all my plugs with zero problems following the TSB of course.

I thought so too. There's been sooo much made of this issue I thought it's time to see what's really going on. I sent RP a PM asking for a true poll or at least a sticky so this won't get lost in the shuffle.

3-0 for the no problem side.

Maybe include the mileage as well.

I replaced the plugs at 37,000 miles. Followed the TSB - none broke.

I'll do 'em again at 80,000 miles! -Don

haven't done mine yet, but 1 quick question...

are you specifiying any break at all? or just the break where the porcelain sticks in the the head due to the "issue"?

reason I ask is because I usually buy 10 spark plugs for a change out on a V-8...I'm not so gentle on plugs and inevitably I'll break 1 or 2

Just if the shield stuck in the head which has been the majority of the complaints.
