Dad Wants an F150, Help with Pricing?
So my Dad has decided that he wants to get out of his chevy and get into an F150. He is not opposed to used, he is just looking for the best deal that he can get. We're in the DFW area so if you guys know of any deals let me know. Couple of questions:
- What price should he expect to pay for a New (07-08) FX4 or Lariat 4x4 Supercrew?
- What price should he expect to pay for a new (07-08) FX4 or Lariat 4x4 Supercab?
- Does anyone know of any incentives that Ford is currently offering on new F150s?

Im guessing DFW mean Dallas Fort Worth, If he wants to go used, he could get a 04 FX4 Screw for about 20,000 to 24,000 depending on the mileage. Those things are all over in Texas. Actually he may be able to get an 05 for close to the same price
I went shopping for a new truck in December 2006. When I visited Bob Bennett Ford in Columbia, South Carolina, they had a very aggressive pricing strategy that I liked.
In the windshield of every new car on their lot they had a tag with the MSRP and below that number they had the rock bottom price for the truck or car. This is their standard strategy to this day.
There was absolutely no negotiating on that rock bottom price (believe me, I really tried and I may have even begged). Those prices were very close to actual invoice and less on left-overs.
Other Ford dealers in the area just advertised MSRP and wold not talk about any discounts from MSRP until they got me in the closing booth.
So what did I do? I bought from Bob Bennett Ford in Columbia, South Carolina.
There is so much less to worry about when I know that the price I see in the window is the actual lowest price that they will sell the vehicle for and any attempts to negotiate that price down will always be met with No! Even after begging.
I only mention it because they could be a good source for finding out what a dealer in your area might actually be willing to sell the same truck to you.
Their web site is: http://www.bobbennettford.com I really can't remember if their strategy is as apparent on the web site. It might be.
Publicly advertised toll free number is: 1-800-866-3673
Ask for salesman, Doug Alls. He didn't quit the day after he sold me my truck

Try Five Star in North Richland Hills. I contacted them by e-mail through the Ford website. Sherry Goodwin is the Internet Manager and she gave me a great deal on an '07 (but that was the end of July). I give that dealership top marks on every count (can't say the same for Five Star in Carrollton). Good luck!

If he logs a bunch of miles up quickly an "08 may be the best bet from a financial standpoint.
If he doesn't drive a lot and plans on keeping the truck for four or more years I'd go for one of the end of the model year trucks ('07)

You can select your vehicle, options & get a target price they can get you the truck for. They will also show all rebates available in your area for that model. You can have 2 or 3 dealers give you a written quote. Grab the lowest and go.
You have been a member here for a while, seems like someone could set ya up with a Ford pin that might make this whiole process a lil easier
