Alright, Ive been reading so much about the handle install and I can find that step by step instructions that used to be on here. Has anyone put step by step ups for the shifter install? one thing i was thinking about today when i was putting in my new console, what about on the door where its rubber. has anyone done a mod to replace the rubber and put leather on?

 

I am no help for the shifter but i did replace my handles. I think it was "matt 05 fx4 " that has a step by step for the LT handles. He has the true blue scab with the steps to install them in his gallery

 

I'm pretty sure I remember most of the members really having to finagle to get the LT shifter on there. Why not just get it covered in leather? I swear there was someone actually selling the leather, thread and needle a while back.

 

The LT shifter you will have to gut most of the inside and get a dremel to smooth it out and then a take a hair more out of the inside in places, but after that it should just slide right on. Then just glue the cap back on. IDK if there is a right up for the shifter swap but for the LT swap, just search for "LT handle install guide". Should bring it right up

ya i bought one off of ebay, i just dont like the cover-up leather. it doesnt sit flush with the rest of the shifter. for anyone who has had the lt handles painted, can you buy the red that the f150s come in. paint code is e4 i believe or does a paint shop have to paint them?

 

Youll have to paint them, The route im taking now is the PTM ones and a chrome cover on the strap? the PTM ones are 80 bucks cheaper than LT's . .youll just have to paint them. .

PTM --(Paint To Match), like the handles on the new FX2/FX4's. I talked to Ken at fordparts.com today and the part #'s posted in Rockpicks thread I dug up are still correct.

 

i like the lt handle too much. i had the "chrome" straps on for a while, they were just too cheap feeling and bothered me. whats the cheapest price on the lt handles?

 

fordparts.com has them for 331 and then tack on 30 for shipping.
