**My Truck Died On Me (NEED HELP)**

I was driving down the street, and got on her kinda hard to get out of the way of traffic, And she bogged down really bad, then when I went to give her gas again she died! And now she'll start, and idle but as soon as i give it some gas she dies

Checked the edge and got the following codes......

(P0171) System to lean Bank 1

(P0174) System to lean Bank 2

(P1000) On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) System Readiness - Test not Complete

I'm afraid it has to do with my plugs I haven't changed them (80,000 Miles) And I know that I've used bad gas before......

What is it?

the P1000 is nothing. It just comes up when all the OBDII diagnostics haven't run.

I would guess it's some kind of fuel line issue. Since it appears in both banks I would guess it isn't a single injector. Most likely not the fuel pump since there are other OBDII diagnostics for that.

When is the last time you changed the fuel filter?

Unplug the MAF and try again.

There's also a vacuum hose on the driver's side rear of the engine that connects to the bottom of the intake manifold. On high mileage trucks, this hose sometimes gets soft and pops off. It also feeds your brake booster, so if you don't have power brakes, there's your problem.

Finally started her up, she ran like s**t for about 5 min. then started running fine. But is still throwing the same three codes, at every startup. As for the fuel filter, just changed it two weeks ago. And quintin, I do have power brakes they never stopped working even when the truck turned off.

I think my injectors are shooting out to much fuel. It's giving all the signs of a flooded engine, could it be that?

I've said it before - a little searching does not hurt; this has been reported many many times ( just plug the codes into the search engine) - read this one over completely:

https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...ighlight=p0171

- and then try cleaning the MAF after you have ruled out the possibility of a vacuum leak.

It's unlikely it's your plugs - although they are indeed overdue for a change...

Good luck

Sounds injector'ish to me, too. Not that I know jack-diddly-do about it!

Best of luck, bud.

Injectors cause rich codes and they usually bring a misfire code or three with them.

Well, OP - what did you find?

It's usually courteous & helps other folks later if the resolution gets posted, so cough it up!

While we are at it... I'll say he installed the fuel filter backwards and his fuel pump is going out!
