Daytime Running Lights?
Daytime Running Lights?
Does anybody else have a truck that won't disable the Daytime running lights when you put the park brake on?(its supposed to I believe?) I know every other vehicle I have ever owned or driven has disabled the daytime running lights when the park brake is engaged. Its bothered me for awhile now that my truck will not do this.

You can DA them by unplugging the resister behind the left headlight. (worked on the 2000 F150) But the 2007 doesn't have the DRLs. Don't tell my insurance company..........

I dont think that resistor trick works on the newer trucks.
I never use the auto lights. I find it hard to walk away from my truck trusting it to shut off its own headlights.
You will probably get a variety of opinions from our fellow F150 owners south of the border. All Canadian vehicles are required to have them and as with all safety and emission equipment I think all provinces require you to maintain them the way they were built. My 06 f150 and my wifes 07 focus both will not turn off with the application of the parking brake although our previous models of both vehicles would (2001's). Obviously DRL's are one of the most noticable things to tamper with if you decide to disconnect them.
