Ridge, they are referring to the old body style 04s which are easy to spot because of their dark orange corner lights. They were not talking about the special edition heritage which u have that was an upgrade that year. I really like those other than the paint job. glad to see u have a 5.4 now and dont have to make up stories about your 4.6

There was a special "Heritage Edition" sold in '03. That was the only year it was built I think.

I seriously doubt they rebadged leftover '03's and sold them as '04's. That's like, illegal or something isn't it?

vin card question???

ya'll are posting about the 03 flowing over into the 04' can any one tell me if mine was actually made in 04 or is it a left over from 03'? IVE PUT A PIC OF VIN CARD IN MY GALLERY. i would like to know more about it if any one has good info(wether it was or wasn't a left over 03', wether or not it was a special edition model, so forth and so-on what about the very dark orange turns' on the front?)

https://www.fleet.ford.com/maintenan...vinResults.asp

and note the

VIN Code: C

which correlates to

Assembly Plant: ONTARIO TRUCK: OAKVILLE, ONTARIO, CANADA

and from http://www.f150fan.com/fordnews/view.cfm?nnum=167

note lines "Available in dealerships this fall, the all-new 2004 F-150 models will be built at Ford Motor Company’s Kansas City (Mo.) Assembly Plant and Norfolk (Va.) Assembly Plant. The Heritage models will be produced at the Ontario Assembly Plant in Ontario, Canada."

Therefore this should lead one to believe that indeed your truck is a 2004 model, assmbled in Ontario, Canada, which is the ONLY place that PRODUCED 2004 modeled "Heritage" trucks. Based on this information you don't have an "overlow" truck from '03, but rather a brand-new, built in maple-leaf land Heritage F-150.

Consider your truck a "special" edition. Congrats.

Not a problem - like I said all the facts are leading me to believe that it's not just a leftover '03 that some guy (or gal) decided to slap some badges on. To tell you the truth I didn't know a whole lot about your truck before the research, so thank you! lol...

getting back on topic, i agree that the 99-04 flaresides especially lightnings (97's & 98's had ugly front bumpers) are one of the best looking vehicles ever made. congrats on your truck

but yes, to this day, your model truck (and yes, especially lightnings) are sooooo sexy. If I were to change anything about my original purchase it would be to go flareside. great looking truck mrshadetree
