breaking the law a bit.....

I decided to get my front windows re-tinted. The 35% was bugging me and after seeing some of your trucks, I took the plunge. I have 15% up front to match the rest and it is SO MUCH better looking.

Now the wheels/tires are bugging me. LOL its only a matter of time......

Pic added now. It was getting dark and the truck is filthy. We can't wash cars here in NC at the moment due to the drought conditions but you get the idea...

Ya see, your looking at it all wrong. Don't view it as a law, look at it as more of a guideline. They are much easier to deviate from.

How do you get around the yearly inspection? I wanted to go 20%...but don't have a hook up for the inspections.

roll the windows down when you get it inspected? My mechanic would never roll them up. But I don't know that they check that in TX.
Don't know what the window tint law is here. Do need to find out though, that's one of my next mods.

I'm glad Florida got rid of the inspections a LONG time ago!

The only time we have inspections/safeties in Ontario, is when the registration/ownership changes hands. We may have to put up with emissions testing and on road enforcement, but we don't have to do inspections!

Only trucks have annuals here, but only trucks of a certain size and weight category.

Truck looks good!

lol at the 15%.

I originally just had my front windows tinted to match the back sides and added a layer over the rear window as well (20%).

Then I decided that wasn't dark enough so had a 5% layer put over the rear window (over the 20 and factory), 5% over the back sides, and ripped off the front layer and re-did the front as 5%. Then I decided that wasn't dark enough so added another a layer of 35% on the two front windows.

Now, I'm thinking of adding a stripe in the front windshield.

My friend thinks I'm nuts but I love it. It does get hairy at night sometimes though.

I got it inspected with the 35% last time... I had the front windows rolled down and they didn't even bother to check! So I hope they do the same this time. My BMW had a small hole in the muffler...a $20 to the tech and it miraculously disappeared..

I also put a layer of 50% over the back windows. I want darker but have found out that backing a trailer at night with that dark back window and darker front windows....now sucks!!!! so I'll leave it at is for now.

i'm contemplating the windshield strip but they will surely check the front windows next time at inspection if I have it, that would be like a dead giveaway!

It can be a pain to get inspected with the tint. I am in the process right now, but I think I will be ok.

the bummer about it is....if you are lucky enough to pull a fast one on the inspection, you still have to worry about the fuzz pulling you over for it and having a fix it ticket!

I've got 15% front and 15% over the factory on the back on my truck.. Illegal here (the front anyway), but luckily no inspections in GA and the cops around NW Atlanta usually won't bother you about it unless you're doing something else to get you in trouble.

It also doesn't hurt to have that big light source of a windshield to brighten it up a little though!
