U bet, it will be this weekend. I’ll have pics, even if it turns out to look like crap. My worries are since my truck is black the colors will look like a 2 tone black and stick out...

They have a black color in a rattle can that is called hammered black. I may try this...

I just painted mine with Duplicolor Truck Bed Coating. It was recently done so I am not sure yet how it will hold up, but so far so good. I did the rails and the bumper cap. I sanded the rails with 220 grit, used Duplicolor Filler Primer, sanded the primer with 600 Grit then painted. This is actually the second time I did it. The first time I didn't prep and the paint peeled up at the bottom edges.

Before

After

Yeah those look good, let us know how well it sticks to the plastic. If it holds up then that will be the route I take to fix mine.

I went out and got 303 by this boards advice...but my plastics are chalky. Nothing can save a truck from a sub-tropical climate.

I promised an update on how the Restore Black turned out. I finally got around to washing my truck last night and to my surprise, the stuff stayed on the rails and did not run off under a pressure wash. It did seem to blister a bit along the ridges but the power wash knocked the flakes off and I just reapplied. It does not soak into the plastic but lies on the surface similar to a paint. It is not a good long term solution but looks so much better than the bleached out rails that I will continue to use it until I either paint or replace them. The rails really look crappy with all the white streaks in the dead surface, I had forgotton how much better they looked when nice and black. Overall, worth the $10 as a temporary fix. The spounge they supply makes the application very easy, so be sure and use it, not a cloth.

do ya think that when I get my bedliner done, I could get the rails and fender flares line-x'd? That would be ideal cause they won't fade.

I was told by the Line-x guy that due to the heat when spraying that they could not do the rails. That was my first choice.

How well do you think this would work on the FX4 plastic fender flares?

I'm not a Line-X expert but I've got plenty of friends with their bed rails done with no problems. The Line-X dealer didn't have a problem doing it either.

I think when I go to get my bed done I'm going to get them to do my rails and fx4 fender flares. If it doesn't cost 500$ extra.
