Do not get air in your truck.
As the title says dont jump your truck. I was out tonight trying to get a baseline for the valving on my new fox shocks, so I can get them re valved to ride better and taking washes and drop overs hard to see what the shocks need and me thinking the stock front shock and spacer is strong enough didn't think twice about beating my truck. My other (drivers side) donahoe coilover is at their shop getting an oil change and sure enough broke/stripped the top bolt off the stock shock allowing the shock shaft to come loose and bend, or twist or something, I cant tell yet I havnt tore into it yet I just got home. Either way the shaft is sticking out the side of the coils and I have no drivers front suspension, I am just thankful it didn't shoot the whole spring out making me loose all control. With all the spring tension on that top bolt and now that shaft bent sticking out the side it could have been a lot worse. Ill get pics tomorrow when I tear into it and get donahoe to over night my good shock back. If you think you are going to use you truck step up to coilovers. After all this time backing procomp and their spacer they do this to me? well it might have just been the stock shock to break but either way Im pissed. My buddy seem to think I need a new LCA because he said when it happened my lower arm deflected a lot like a bad bushing possible allowing this to happen
that sucks man sorry about that. i'm going to take it easy on my truck once I get these ball joints issues straigtened out. do you have aim? I want to ask you some questions I can't decide whether I should change it or pay ~$80...
Title: DO NOT GET AIR IN YOUR TRUCK
Extreme, you should have known this, but at least your one of the few that can say they've done it..... Well my truck's left the ground before to..... but not intentionally

I launched my truck with a 3" LK. Melted the bumpstops and had a huge shimmy. I had the Stage I ProComp installed and even rode with the shocks like that for about 3 mos.:o
Here is a pic of my shocks with 2,000 miles on them.

The 6" spacer held up, right? Had you coilovers ever been disassembled?

sorry went out drinking after today, D's on two test and now my truck, I had to go drink, but now i can join the group of being drunk and f150onlineing it. I forgot what I loged on to post about. Yeah the spacer held up no bend in that as far as I can tell Ill let you know more later, and as for the aftermarket donahoe coilovers yes they have been dissablemd before I added a shaft extension to make them work with my lift which means taking the coiloff but I havnt ever opened them up. Donahoe uses a special valve that if I open them I cant refill them with n2. Also no i dont have aim just email me extremeethan@juno.com i check that pretty often. As for the lower arm i called ford here in town and its 300 for the arm with bushings and balljoint which I was going to change over winter break anyways. I just hope thats it, my donahoes have leaked 3 times on the drivers side alone, and none on the other side yet so something is up with the drivers side and I hope a new arm with bushings and ball joint takes care of it, also the upper is new as of last winter and the donaheosl leaked on that side two weeks after i got them and thats with the old arm too so all I can figure is the lower is bent or the bushing are gone, I am going to call doanhoe and talk to them tomorrow and see what they found after micing the shaft to see if its the shaft causing the leak.
i was cruising through a neighborhood once going about 50 and did not see the sign that said "dip" and hit the dip at 50 mph, got the entire truck airborn my friends in the backseat hit theirs heads on the roof and it had a pretty rough landing, i was so scared i broke something. got out and checked everything, and nope it was all okay. still running on the same suspension parts now, and this happened over a year ago. i musta got lucky.

do you have an uca for the right side?
unfortunately, no, but even if I did, i would highly suggest upgrading to a custom one instead, total chaos, or something similar. nevermind the fact that its higher quality, we all know Ford doesn't like to include grease fittings on any OEM ball joints.
funny I am going back to stock ball joint because I dont like the greasable ones they keep pushing out all the grease.
Edit I am going to try napa problem solver blue boot ones

My front suspension and a friends have been off the ground numerous times. I have UCA to coil contact even with the offset-AS design. I would like some limit straps up front, but have no time as i got another project in front of that. I could care less about the contact, i have only been in 2wd when the front tires leave the ground, i fear that with the already present angles of the CV, the CV will bind and snap or strip splines if i land.
