You are aware that mpg increase was due to the fact the motor isnt turning a ps pump right?

I'd like to see an electric ps pump for the F350-F550s.

I can see them on smaller lighter weight cars but in these trucks, they better have a strong unit.

I know they have electric fans, water pumps, and now ps pumps. When will they make an electric alternator?

I know, it is all explained in the article. I was just making fun of the exec trying to shed 4 pounds out of the engine bay. But to their credit they are looking at making their cars lighter by making lighter parts. If they can shave few pounds out of every part manufactured, That can amount to some real MPG increase. I don't drive my truck that much to look for any MPG savings. To give you an idea, recently i have been driving my truck no more than 60 miles a week. My weekly truck gas expenditures is no more than 10 bucks if that. I have a four banger car for my commute. I took the Jack out because it is useless and just taking up space in the back of the truck. I have AAA, in the unlikely event, I have tire problem. I just give them a call.

I can tell you one thing about AAA. Being a LEO those wreckers with AAA contracts will take their sweet a## time. They will pick up and try their flips for paying customers vs contract tows.

someone probably hated it and just never put it back in the truck when they sold it.

Yeah, I have a jack but I hate it becasue the bracket that hold the jack in place squeeks whenever I hit a bump due to the jack putting pressure on it when coming down. I think im gonna take it out since I have 24 hr roadside assistance anyways and the its just really annoying.

Wow thats awsome...I think I will remove all my lugnuts. Thats like 25 extra ponies

I gotta support runnerboy...The taking the jack out for weight was pretty good...the lugnuts for hp was even better. I replied earlier that I would take all of them off...after doing the math, I came up with 25 extra ponies.

Runnerboy...did not see if you mentioned a quantitative value for the removeal of the jack. Based on weight of the lugnuts VS. the Jack, I am guessing an extra hundred.

Driving at night with the only the parking lights on also nets 10=HP
And dont forget to take out the airfilter. That POS restricts the airflow like a motherFer

Oh man I just did the math. -1 lug on each wheel=5HP. So If you took off all the lugs on an 04+ you would gain like 30HP. F the Edge, Im goin out to take off my lugs...

What if your battery is dead...or you happen to be in an area with no cell coverage. What about a Sunday...and its a very small town? Maybe I am just an idiot, and AAA is just that good. Not raggin ya, just trying to understand.
