Truck Weight

Took a large load a brush from a tree we cut done today and they weight you when you come in and leave and I was suprised at how much my 2005 F-150 rang in at. Grand total unladed was 6,400 Pounds.

Those scales are wrong. Your truck does not weight that much EMPTY.

Unless you are EXTREMELY fat.

They beat you on the weight if you were not in it

A 4x4 screw may come close to that weight.

dump scales don't have to read the weight right only the deferents so if they start at 900 pounds it don't matter
you have to go find a certify scale and get weighed

The base curb weight of a 4x4 Screw is just shy of 5600 lb's. Add a trailer tow package, full tank of gas, running boards, driver etc etc , and you're darn close but likely a good bit over the 6000 lb mark

My guess is that the scale was off 200-300 lbs. I know that on a certified scale my truck weighed in at 5880. That was with my 325's on, full tank of gas (35.7gal), 3 ball mounts, a couple of ratchet straps and 2 3/8X20 chains in the bed, there was nothing else in the truck that I can remember. Also, I was not in the truck I was in the office watching the weight pop up on the computer screen.

If I were to take all the stuff that I had in the truck out and put the stock tires back on, I am guessing that my truck would be around the 5700 lb range (with a full tank of gas). Granted that just a guess, but this winter I am going to try and remember to put her back on the scale and see.

Really!!!!!

I had my truck over the scale completely with no load and a half tank of fuel and it was just shy of 6400lbs. Think about it, some guys have added alot of weight in extras. Put on a lift, big tires and rims, traction bars, grill gaurd. Not hard to hit alot of extra pounds.

I had my truck weighed the same way. came to 6100 lbs empty. including me. but I figured I had a few hundred pounds of extras added on plus a full tank is almost 300 lbs. plus me 150 lbs. I didn't figure the weight was too much off. 6400 may be off some but as long as it was off the same when you went in you didn't get ripped.
