grrrrrrrr...jack missing

I just got my truck about a month ago and I happened to look under the rear seat and I see this bracket with nothing in it. So I guess I dont have a jack. Can someone show me a pic of what it looks like?

Someone jacked your jack? Swing by one of the dealerships and take a look and then maybe you can get one at a junk yard.

Don't bother getting a stock jack. Alot of people ditch them anyways because they are horrible. I bought a 4-ton bottle jack and keep that along with a chunk of wood for a base under my rear seat. For less than $20 you can get a MUCH better and safer jack than the stock one.

Make sure you have the tools to lower the spare tire. No matter what you do for a jack and lug wrench, you definitely need to have the spare tools.

Absolutely!

I ditched mine shortly after purchasing my truck and went this route.

The jack in the truck is no good. I took mine off ( less weight ) and left only the tools in the back seat. if i have a flat tire, I usually call AAA. I let them use their Heavy Duty jacks to change the tire, or fix it if there is a nail in the tire. It is much safer that way.

are the tools stored in the same spot as the jack? I can believe someone would jack my jack! I'll see about getting the tools to lower the tire.

Ilovemyford...Quick question, what the hell is the point of removing the jack for "less weight"??? Seriously the jack may weigh 15lbs max. I dont think you're picking up too much by doing that. If thats the case though. I heard if you remove 1 lugnut from every wheel you pick up 5HP. J/k

Yes, they're in the same spot. I think the jack is fine. Hit up a junk yard.

someone doesnt understand sarcasm.
anyways, i have had one of those factory jacks give in on me....right after i had just got the spare on the rim of a car. If it had happened a few seconds earlier...i could have been in a bad situation with the rotor on my foot.

Here is another one, Auto manufacturers are getting rid of the motor steering pump for the electric one, because the weight of the pump a mere Four pounds to increase MPG. Go figure . By getting rid of over 10 pounds I am doing better than Japs engineers . the devil is in the details.

Here is an excerpt of the article, if you do not feel like reading the whole thing.

.....Toyota already has electric power steering on multiple models from top-line Lexuses to the popular new Camry to its youth-oriented Scion small cars.

Eliminating the power steering pump and fluid also helps gas mileage by shedding weight, said Williamsen, who reports a 3-to-5 percent fuel efficiency gain depending on model.

"It has absolutely saved us a four-pound lump of iron that would have been sitting there in the engine bay," Williamsen said......

here is the article I was looking at. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070906/...lectric_motors
