New Performance Mods , Thoughts

I am now ready to do a little performance modding to my truck and would like some non biased opinions , if that is possible, I have a 2007 5.4 4x4 supercrew , I want a realistic power gain , better fuel mileage and a nice exhuast sound without being to loud, after reading these threads for hours on end ( some are very entertaining ) I have come to the conclusion that the S&B intake with a custom troyer tune and some type of true duals is the ticket for pure power, but as I said I really want realistic power and better mpg, I allready have replaced my muffler with a magnaflow muffler and it sounds ok but not really what I want, I have also put a Bakflip cover on , now I have ordered a new Volant w/Powercore ( should I also get the ram air or try to make one with pvc tubing or leave it without one ) ,I am going to order the new Hypertech Max Energy and a Corsa exhaust ,either dual side or dual rear not sure yet, I am also changing all the air in my tires with nitrogen tommorow, sorry this is so long , but just looking for thoughts, as of now I have not seen any threads on the Volant/Powercore or the Hypertech Max Energy or the nitrogen replacement.

I would do Efans before you even think about doing UD pullies. Cats, maybe worth it to you, but expect the truck to get louder. Belts is often overlooked, and can help if you are having problems....

I tried that route with the cat back and it would have been about $100 more.

sounds about right. I would prefer for my truck to have a system made on the truck instead of ordering a part, that way you know it will fit.

i havent herd much on the new hypertech i had the old one and didnt like it. I went with Edge and love it. i would do that or troyer tune. i dont know what puting nitrogen in the tires would do but go a head. and i ran true dules and am happy with it, i have been thinking about changing to a pair of maggies or a DI/DO but havent decided yet. sounds like your on the right track. Good luck

polpilot , I thought about the edge but from what I gathered here people are not happy with edge on 2007 models, am I wrong ? i would like the edge but am skeered, I put the nitrogen in because the nitrogen molecules are larger the oxygen molecules so the pressure stays mostly the same and does not leak off therefore you get better gas mileage because you are always at the right tire pressure and nitrogen does not heat up as fast and you get get better tread life, my buddy owns a tire and wheel shop and did it for free so how could i not do it, probably would do it any way as much as gas and tires cost. I put on the Volant today , have not really given it a good trial run yet but it sure is purty.
