ok well he was throwing a code im not but im sure it could still be the problem but about the fuseable link how do i go about check that it is working?

ok so is this the fusible link?

if so how do you check it it doesnt seem like a fuse type of thing it seems like its just a connector

There's your problem... Your oil cap is on upside down!

Sometimes it helps to have another's eye check things out.

still rockin the battery light.... havnt touched it or had problems been busy.... id like to check the fusible link first but not quite sure how to do that so if someone could guide me through that, that would be great if that isnt it ill get the new alt....

Have you fixed this problem,? I know it's an old thread but I found it searching and it's the exact problem I am having now. New batt new ford alt. Install went smooth and my old alt was good before I took it out, I was just upgrading to a 130 amp alt. When I start my truck the light is off, then after say 50 seconds or so it comes on. My voltage reading is good too.

It's confusing the crap out of ,e cause it's charging fine truck is running fine just the stupid light stays on. Any help would greatly be appreciated.
