lifted gas mileage

Just out of curiosity, what do you all get for gas mileage with a 4 wheel drive and 33 or 35 inch tires. Just curious because next summer I want to get a new F150 and put 35's on it but I don't want to do it if I cant afford the gas for it. All help is appreciated.

On 35's and 4.56's I'm averaging 13-14 mpg per tank in probably 70/30 highway/city depending on how I'm driving and how much idling I do at work. The display always reads about .5-1 mpg optimistic. Best tank yet was 15.6 mpg average. To give perspective I used to average 14-15 mpg with a stock '98 reg cab 4x4 so although I'd love to get better the difference is a non issue.

I am running 325/60/18's (33X13). With a combo of about 50/50 (city/highway) I average right around 15mpg, some tanks of gas are better some are worse. I have had a all time best of 18.6 on a longer highway trip, but also a low of 9.something when doing ALOT of heavy towing.

For what the truck is, a heavy 4WD brick, I am happy with the mileage.

I get 11.5-12.5 around town and on the highway I get 13.5-14.5 on 35's. Actually it is slightly better than when my truck was stock.

Well, if that was the case, it couldn't have gotten any worse

If you have to worry about it before doing it you probably shouldnt do it. Too many people on here go n get a lift without thinking bout those kinda things then sell it a few months later. the people who should truely get a lift on their truck are people who take it offroad and have enough $$ to not haveto worry about beingempty in the backpocket when the lift gets put on.

I run 37's with 4.88's on my 06 4x4 and get between 14-17 combined driving. No long highway runs yet. I would assume it would be better than 17.

Depends how you drive, if you put cruise on @ 50-65mph it's [very] easily attainable. You're on 4.88's and still capable of great highway mileage, impressive.

well put. lifted and fuel economy arent usally in the same sentence. if u want just 33's or 35's just level then use the extra cash for gas

I drive pretty normal...The occasional redlight drag race, lol, 70ish on the short interstate runs I do. If I go offroad or drive like an A-hole the mileage suffers, but that is to be expected. I try to stay out of stop and go traffic as that really kills your mileage. I usually drive on two lane roads with very little traffic and few stop signs. I would hate to have had this truck when I lived in Atlanta Georgia.
