Im not trying to be a smart*** but u guys should look into two-way radios. CBs are way out of date and sound like s*** most of the time. I two-way wont talk as far (15miles avg for high band, 30 or so for low band) but it will sound like you are sitting next to the person. Just some advice.

and ive got the same radio pictured in the first post a cobra 19 ultra 3 running a oil cooled antenna.. you may want to think about getting a power mic though because there is no mic gain and it makes it hard to get a good distance without one.
also i like my setup (all the wires are now tucked in the dash like the coax)

I am rethinking my mounting point in the truck for the radio (no big deal since I used Velcro). I would LOVE to have the mic mounted in the area you have it shown...

Take 2 strips, one toward the top, one toward the bottom of the radio, and stick them on, bristly part of the Velcro stuck to the radio. With both halves of the Velcro on the radio peel the paper off the fuzzy side, and stick the radio to wherever on the dash you want to mount it...
The end product will look something like...
