I've read this is done at the factory now but can't confirm. Anybody know one way or another?

Thanks.

Does it do any good? Some past discussions of anti-seize in the combustion chamber resulted in a majority that doubted it's effectiveness.

Yep there's one 90 year old lady that sits there and applies the anti-sieze to every plug.

thumpermx113 has over 10,000 posts and he stated they do. The reply is so short though its hard to know if he is being serious or not. I'd really appreciate it if someone could give a bit more difinitive answer.

I was thinking this weekend I might pull a plug and check. Anybody know if the antiseeze will be visibly evident? I only have 1500 miles on the truck.

This may not necessarily "prove" that they do it, but it's a good indication... I searched TSB's for 2004-2007 F150's. The only years that had the TSB for applying nickel anti-seize were 2004-2005... The TSB does not apply to 2006+. We can therefore conclude that it's applied at the factory for 2006+ models..??.. Just a thought.

It would do a lot of good for Ford's falling image to voluntarily call in all 2004-05 F150s with the 5.4, and replace the plugs, which would be covered in anti-seize. Yes, it would cost them money, but it will do them a lot to keep customers in the long run.

This problem alone is going to make me question my next truck purchase. Yes, I know other brands have their problems, but this problem is ridiculous to the point that it should have been thought of before going into production. C'est la vie.

[QUOTE=i.ride.suzuki]Umm what they hell do you want to hear?

What the hell do I want to hear? I think I made that pretty clear in the post you quoted. Maybe you don't understand the meaning of definitive? Here ya go:

1 : serving to provide a final solution or to end a situation <a definitive victory>
2 : authoritative and apparently exhaustive <a definitive edition>
3 a : serving to define or specify precisely <definitive laws> b : serving as a perfect example : QUINTESSENTIAL <a definitive bourgeois>
4 : fully differentiated or developed <a definitive organ>
synonym see CONCLUSIVE

While I understand nothing written on a chat forum should be taken as law, I was hoping for some more detail than a one word reply (not meaning to insult thumper). bamorris2 post is a pretty good speculation. Yoman and Baja's replies indicate other people are still curious too, in spite of the one word reply you seem to feel ends all debate/concern.

But hey, thanks for being rude.
