Dropped my truck; drive line angle ?
Dropped my truck; drive line angle ?
I dropped my truck this weekend using the DJM 2.5/4 kit. Looks like everything is good, but I can't get a good view of the drivshaft because the gas tank is on one side and the muffler on the other. The only full view is from the rear of the truck and all I can tell is that it looks strait. I drove it this morning up to 65mph and felt no vibrations.
Is there a method used to check the drive line angle?
Thanks!

looks good, yah its called the pinion angle, and you check the angle of the driveshaft from the trans output, and the rear end input. Then use shims in the leafs to get the angle correct. Any competent body shop/ mech shop should be able to tell you what angle shims you need.
Shims (stock on left 6* on right)

Drivers side no shim

Passenger side with 6* shim in

I left my truck to get an alignment this afternoon, and will get it back this evening. I asked the guy to take a look at the drive line angle since he has a lift and could probably get a better view. In addition I explained to him how to adjust the angle if need be. I also asked him to tack weld the nuts to the pivot bolts for the A-arms. Just hope he got the steering wheel stait!
I'll let ya'll know how it came out tomorrow.
