Dinging when key is in accessory mode?
Someone correct me if I am wrong... but the speaker (piezo speaker) for the ding'er is on the circuit board of the instrument cluster.
So if you are (or know someone who is) good at soldering/desoldering items off of a circuit board, you are set. Another idea could be to just bust the speaker itself... they usually have a hole... so just stick a thumb tack (be sure to remove it) in there... but you might run the risk of a short circuit.

in my 2006 manual there was / is instructions on how to deacvtivate the ding donger
I did this on mine as we use ours on a farm and when we get out to check something on the farm, we leave the truck runnig, especially at night, we need thr ligts on the truck, checking cattle, hogs, grain bins, we hate the noise so we reprogrammed, now no dinger
I will have t check, but I think the dinger still works if key is in the ignition with the key in off and door open, tturn the key on nad it stops

Black/Pink wire in the column or on top of the IC will disable the chime. Your headlight chime will still function: its for the doors only.

Open up your steering column. Remove the panel under the steering column. Remove the 7/32" screw in the bottom of the column. Remove that plastic piece. It's a jigsaw puzzle. Remove the two 7/32" screws holding the top plastic panels. Remove those. Similarly jigsaw puzzle.
Behind the turnsignal stalk there's a 6 pin plug, one of who's wires is black/pink. Remove the plug from the column. Remove the red insert from the front of the plug using a small jewelers screwdriver to depress the latches on either side. With the front red piece out of the way, look inside the connector. About halfway back there's a small plastic latch that holds the connector pin in place. From the rear of the connector press the black/pink wire in lightly. Take your jewelers screwdriver and lift up on the plastic latch holding the pin in from the front of the connector. Pull back on the black/pink wire and it should slip right out of the connector body. Tape it off and stash it out of the way. Put the red insert back in the plug, and reassemble.
Now with the key in the ignition, the car will be silent.
A more permanent solution is to snip the wire, which will do the same thing, but is irreversible.
Note that you can now lock the door with the key in the ignition and close it, it will not unlock. Use with care.
