Question 2 7/8" Drop Shackles and 17inch rims

Just a few questions I want to run by a few of you other members.

I have an 04 screw (2wd)

I just purchased 2 7/8" Drop Shackles. Will that lower the rear end of the truck and level her out? (I havent touched the front.. it's still stock height)

I also picked up a spare set of (4) 17" Factory Rim's off of ebay for a GREAT price. Im wanting to put some lower profile tires on the truck. Basically I want to get some Smaller Diameter Tires to play with out on the race track. That way Im not burning up the Firestone AT's I have on her now!!

Looking for some suggestions on a good tire size!!

Thanks!!

where did you get the drop shackles from, I have the Belltech 2" shackles, and I know that a longer shackle will not go under the truck

make sure you get the pinion shims with that kit... 2 7/8 sounds like it may be tight up against the bed, and i know with the 2" kit you need shims. with almost an extra inch youre def. gonna need those shims so you dont shred your rear end/tranny/driveshaft.

Try These Tires

They'd be the best for just rippin' up at the strip with the best results.
