Hella Tailights
Received from The Tire Rack - Chevy Silverado 2003-Up Hella LED Tail-Lamps
Well, I have had the unopened box of my Hella LED Tail-lamps sitting for about a week now, and upon opening the outer shipping box, found inside Hella LED Tail-lamps for a Chevy Silverado, 2003-Up. The invoice did correctly say that I ordered the F-150 Hella LED Tail-lamps, but something else got shipped instead. I contacted Hella directly, and they confirmed that I have the Chevy version.
Oh well, no big deal. I just wanted to install them this weekend. I shipped them back RMA on The Tire Rack's dime. They had great customer service. Everybody can make a mistake.
Anybody else get shipped Chevy Silverado versions by mistake?

Krazy you are scaring me. I ordered my taillights from Tire Rack as well and I have a 07 FX2 Screw. When I get home today I will probably try to install them and hopefully the third brake light will work. I will keep you inform is it does or doesnt.

Follow up on the fuse issue, I just came back from a trip to the beach and while driving home hit a huge thunderstorm, I had my lights on, as well as my flashers, it was raining that hard and at some point during the storm the 7.5 breaker blew, leaving me with no stop or turn lights, I found a new fuse at the closest Wal-Mart and worked fine again.
Should that have happend so easily, the fuse break? Can I put in a larger fuse say a 10 amp and help the problem.
BTW I was also towing my travel trailer, I know that the extra load from running the TT lights may have contributed to the problem but for the future what should I do?

assuming you have factory tow -- the trailer should be on a seperate circuit, right? Weird.
Fella's I installed the LED upgrade kit on my 07 FX2 4 days ago and I love it. Krazy just to let you know I didnt have any issues with my 3rd brake light. My only con about that lights is the fact that the LED's dont stay on as running lights. They are only used in turning and braking. I think that someone on here changed that is so, was it difficult?
I finally got my second shipment of the Hella LED Tail and 3rd Brake light kit. The first kit I was sent was for a Silverado?????
Anyway, I installed the the tail-lights and 3rd brake light yesterday, and my 3rd brake light did not work. So I decided to think about it overnight, and an idea came to me. Since LED's are polarity dependent, I wondered if maybe I turned around the plug in the socket, if it might work. So I went out and did that today, and guess what, it worked. It makes sense, but why didn't the Hella instructions indicate that? I'm sure few people know that LED's are polarity dependent. If I didn't have an AA in Electronics, I wouldn't have known either.
I posted this so that maybe this tip will help someone else. I absolutely love these LED tail and 3rd brake lights.
Now I'm off to post my OEM Harley F-150 tail lights that have less than two months/1,000 miles usage on them onto E-bay. Can anyone tell me what I should get for them used, but in scratch-free perfect condition? I know that new from jusnesmodified.com they cost $109.00.
