Keypad code: factory location?

I have a 2005 Supercrew and have no idea what the keypad code combination is. Can anyone please tell me the best places to look for it?

Thanks for any and all replies!

It is behind the rear seat back on the left side of the truck.

Got a picture of the sticker that the code is on so I will know what I am looking for because I have no clue what mine is either. My dad passed away and left me the truck and I never got it from him prior to losing him.

The black box in the left (truck left) coner is what you are looking for. You can always go to the dealer and pay $80 for them to get it for you.

You shouldn't have to pay the dealer anything for it. They can look it up with your VIN. They had to look one up for me when we bought a used explorer.

No, I don't think it can be had via the VIN#.
They have to hook up the computer (and charge you a half hour labor) to get it.

I had a ((( $90 ))) key made and they pulled mine for "free".
I surrendered and had them cut/program a second key for $20.

It IS behind the rear seat, but I could NEVER get mine out . Not for a lack of trying I'll tell ya....

When i bought my truck the first thing i did was change the code that came with the factory to my personal code. What happens if he bought it used and they never told him the code? Wouldnt the one on the box be irrelevant if the code was changed by the previous owner?

When I tried to get the one for our explorer the service writer said I just needed to bring the vehicle in. He couldn't give it to me over the phone because he couldn't verify that I was the actual owner. The next time I was in for service they gave it to me. Maybe they did have to hook up to it but I know they didn't charge me. Don't let the stealership bully you around. They should do this sort of stuff for free.

The owner's manual says the factory default that's on the sticker or in the owner's manual will always work regardless of a personal one entered after.
