I have a set of the Total Chaos UCA's and I wished I had never got them. The main problem is that is they limit your wheel travel by 2", 1" of up travel and 1" of down travel. The other problem is that you can not run your stock wheel back spacing which is 6". They are only good "looks" and thats it!! check them out on my truck in the photo gallery. Also my truck is on Total Chaos' web site. Of course this is my opinion!! And that from a professional Trophy Truck builder. Oh yeah the do look cool!

OK coilovered where is the pic of your truck in the gallery? Who do you build trucks for? What class you build? I do know for a fact that my wheel travel is more than an inch in both directions. Most people that would get these arm dont use stock rims anyway. Plus they are still good for guys that have oversized tires.
FX4 guy...I paid 600 for mine threw a buddy at ORW. I installed them myself at my buddies shop fab shop. All we had to do is cut a peice of shock tower off to make them work for my 2wd, because they are only made for the 4wd trucks.

Wow, that sounds like an attack. The pics of my truck are in the photo gallery under Coilovererd. Your wheel travel is more than an inch in both directions. I should have clarified. You have 9-3/8" total with the TC arms. The stock arms have 11-1/2". thats about 20% less wheel travel. If you are using the arms and the Sway-a-way shock then you will only get 6" of travel. You should be using the 6" back spacing or your geometry will be off. There is an imaginary line runing thru you upper and lower ball joints. That line should land in the center of your wheel otherwise you will notice that with your wheels that the steering wheel gets alot of feed back from the rough surface roads.
I dont believe that our trucks need the TC arms because there are stock full (class 8S) racing Score and BITD with 35" and 37" tires and they are not breaking their ball joints.

If I were to do it over i would just buy the King Shocks for the front and rear. I'm just sorry that I wasted my money on the Total Chaos arms and I wanted to let everyone know what I learned the hard way. I thought that was one of the advantages of using this forum.

The wheel travel problem is only with the TC arms Camburg has swiched to the f911 bolt that frees up more travel. Uniballs are known for squeaking I am susprised non with the arms have had that problem yet. The worse part their is no fix for the squeak either, WD will only make it worse. If you use race truck parts you get race truck sounds. I still think they give you a major siky gnar gnar look

Hey, Coilovered. I just ordered two brand new oem upper control arms. I should have them tomorrow. I was wondering if we could work out a trade + cash, or something for your Total Choas arms? Let me know what you think. You can email me at: kalebarellano@gmail.com, or call me at (407)-398-2779.

Thanks,
Kaleb

The binding of the control arm has to do with the High misalignment spacers that are on each side of the uniball heim joint. I run an F911 bolt as well. An F911 bolt is the same size and any 7/8" bolt just stronger.

No they have a smaller head allowing more movement as well as you can run a smaller bolt for the same strength giving you more mis alignment you dont run the same size bolt when you run f911. Also the TC arms dont use an f911 when they first came out so did you swap it after and have the right misalignment spacers made?

F911 and grade 8 bolts have the same head size. Unless you are referring to a 12 point head. Mine came with the F911 bolt in the kit. I did not have any special misalignment spacers made. Also the limiting factor on mine is not the bolt head but the misalignment spacers. A different bolt would not do anything to improve the the binding.

The Camburg Arms have a smaller bolt size because of the 1 piece heat treated 17-4 stainless adapter. This allows more angle that the other company's spacer. This allows 3 more inches than the competition! Our parts are designed to be an improvement. If we can't build more wheel travel and strength then there would be no point of building the arms! Another great benefit is more caster for better handling.

About time some camburg guys start checking out the f1 forums, now all we need are some of the donahoe and sway a way people. It looks like dezertrangers is moving right in on our forums,Camburg here and link over in the suspension pages, lets hope the dezertrangers drama doesnt move to our forum also though.
