I want a sub, just need a location!

I want to put a sub in my truck, but the problem is that 90% of the time the back seats are folded up for taking my dog with me, so that means that I can't just put a sub under the rear seat. The local audio shop recommended taking out the jack and stuff under the "little bucket" seat in the rear and just leave that part down all the time. They thought that they might be able to build a box for a 10" for there and then put the amp under the front pass. seat.

Does anyone else know where I can put a sub in my truck??

BTW, I have the flow-thru console.

Thanks
Paul

You can fit a sub under that small rear seat. Then you could mount the amp behind the rear seat back cushion like a bunch of us have done. I don't like putting amps under the front seats since the floor heat is exhausted there. Plus it's a pretty small spot to fit a descent amp properly.

pioneer and a few other companies make shallow mount subs that you could put under the seet. The sound pretty good too. and as for the amp it just depends on the company. alpine and rockford make some pretty mean amps that will fit under the front seants with no problems. I have a 800 watt rockford under my pass. seat and there are no clearance issuse at all.

Before I went with my custom box under my rear seats, I was exploring replacing my center console and custom making a box that still had cup holders and all, but no box to store goods...just a subwoofer that looked like a center console and arm rest.

Since it doesnt matter where you place the bass...in between the front seats would be good (that is if you dont mind or if you do not have a flow-through console).

Hope this helps...

...I dont think you have much of a choice. Mount amps behind the rear seats and get a qlogic box? The problem with that was rattling...it was great for a while, but I wanted a little more umf...so I had a custom box made.
