RAFA26, getting new wheels and tires...

I am selling my 24" wheels and tires and i'm thinking about a set of 22" Archer II from Centerline wheels and Nittos NT420s 285/45/22.

Those are nice man but I think you need a bigger contact patch. Those will look like pizza cutters.

Nice wheels Have you considered, Pirelli Scorpion Zero Asimmetrico or Yokohama Parada Spec-X? I think BF G offers the g-Force Sport in that size too.

Because they look like (similar, but different) old GMC syclone or typhoon wheels?

like everyone else why so small on the tire? id go at least 305 and id highly suggest my wheels i forget what exactly they weigh but with new 305/40/22's they were like a pound or two more then the stock bald tires with the stamped steel wheels

The wheels are not my cup of tea but like everyone said, please go with at least 305s.

I think azmidget's wheels would look much better on your truck.

Although I don't have the HP you're running, I have the NT420Ss on my truck too. The 285/45 x 22 is 11.2 inches wide and provides pretty good hookup for me when playing around.

The benefit you'll see from the 45 profile is the softening of the ride a bit compared to the 30-35 series tires. I felt it was a good compromise of ride vs. all-out performance. The 420s look really good too.

The NT420S is 32.09 inches tall, and should work well with your 4.56 gears. They are also rated for "mud & snow", but I wouldn't expect studded snow tire performance out of them.....

The wheels look very nice, but I don't know much about them. I'm guessing that a reduction in weight with great quality is your reason for switching. Perhaps you're planning on lowering your truck a bit???? With 22's, you'll have many more tire options down the road.

Unless you're looking for a dedicated strip tire, I think you'll be happy with this choice.

That's one hell of a truck you're finishing up!

Lee
