S&B Intake.. Too good to be true?

So I just came accross this on ebay and I was wondering if yall think this price is too good to be true for S&B Intake. I want to hopefully order something by tonight or tomorrow. Thump said this is a really good intake but that just sounds too cheap for something that good.

That's the old style. Go to the s&b website and look at the new style. Much nicer.

New style:

1. Not the best performer
2. Likley will require custom tuning, after all --> https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...72&postcount=6

Purty, though,...

Like they all said get the new style. Im more than happy with mine, the perfomance gains where nice (esp. under acceleration) and it has a nice growl to it. Not to mention it is a high quality product. I also have the edge, but it should not require any tuning. I could care less that it isnt as great as the AF1, it suits my needs perfectly. I didnt want an "open" filter and the pictures of my engine bay show why. I would have been cleaning an open filter weeklky, at least w/ the enclosure it is somewhat cut down and less likely to get wett. Go for it, you will love the S&B setup

P.S., there is a whole gallery of pictures of the system and install, in my gallery!

Down boy! If the man wants to run that intake on his truck, who are you to call him stupid? Just because he didn't go running to Troyer Performance you start name calling? Get a life.

I'll be getting a S&B intake, and not an AF1, with some custom tuning done by VMPTuning via an Xcal2. I can't wait, although gears do come first!

Well, I was gonna go with the S&B, but they sent me the wrong kit, supposedly. To me, it looked to be of questionable quality. The plastic parts seemed thin with too many weak hose clamp joints. Also, I did not think that the air flow would be as good as with an aluminum or steel tubed kit. The kit really necks down at the throttle body. I liked the idea of an enclosed kit, but the only thing that looked like it was quality on this kit was the filter itself. Plus, if you do decide to get one, do not get it from S&B directly. Their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. I would go with something like AEM or AF1. I personally went with the AF1 3.5" and not out of loyalty to any particular reseller.

I was just reading this post thinking about how lucky you guys are that you have so many choices in aftermarket performance parts!

I did read that, and I know first hand that it shouldnt require a tune, even the guys over at S&B will tell you that. Not all of us go around shoving products on ppl, and the name calling makes you sound real mature.

By the way my SAT score was a 1650. . .

That would be completely up to you! If you are unsure shoot an email to the guys over at S&B and they will answer all your questions, they have some of the best customer service I have ever experienced. I ran mine for about a week w/out the edge (it was just set to stock) and had no problems at all and still noticed some nice performance gains. When I flipped the edge back up to lvl 3 though that is when it all came together (big three: Exhaust, Intake, Tuner) and I saw the most peformance from it all.
