Hello, I belive there should be 3 1/2 to 4 gallins left. If you notice when you fill it up, at least my truck It never gets more than 26 or 27 gallons. Atleast as soon as the light comes on that is.

I get the low fuel warning at 50 miles remaining till empty. You can clear it and it will come back on at 40 miles, etc, etc. I think once you hit the 30 mile point, the warning will come on every 5 miles or so.

I got gas yesterday with about 20 miles left. It took 100 liters to fill up, which is right at 26.4 gallons. The price? Euro 138.97 which equals $195.73! Good thing for fuel coupons. This is just to give you an idea of what the locals pay for gas.

Mine has about 4 gallons left and when it runs out, I can get just over 26 gallons in it. But don't bet on it. You might have gas left that the pickup doesn't reach. When my Escape was new, after a few tanks, I knew how much it took to fill it up and I subtracted that from the capacity to know how far I could go. Imagine how embarrassed I was to have the first Escape (bright red) in town and I was pushing it down Main Street to the gas station. I had a gallon of gas left in the tank but couldn't get it out.

There should be 3-5 gallons left when the low fuel light comes on.

Where do things even out, if at all for your Germans as far as fuel prices go. Are your wages higher over there? That is a rediculous amount to pay for gas, I go through a tank pretty fast.

my understanding is that the low fuel light comes on when your fuel guage reaches 1/32 or 1/16 of a tank left. I know it says in your manual when the fuel guage comes on, and for each fuel tank size I believe it changes.........

Wages and such arent much higher, Europeans cope by drivin drive smaller and more efficient cars cars. Hatch-backs EVERYWHERE!!! Usually, the only huge vehicles I've seen on the roads are driven by us American GI's or wealthy Europeans who can afford it.

Most europeans also buy diesels, which are available in just about any make, model vehicle you can think of over there. Most get awsome gas milage! I rented a 3 series diesel BMW with a 6 speed manual and drove from Luxembourg to Munich (about 6 hrs, all Autobahn, avg 115mph) and used well under a half a tank...I was impressed! My Girlfriend bought a Mazda Miata, all her Euro friends thought she was crazy for buyin a gas car, In the states you'd be drivin cheap.

Fuel is SO expensive out there, regardless of what you drive, thats why i try not to complain when when i put $70 in to fill up, it could be way worse

05 XLT 5.4 27 gallon tank. Mine comes on with around 5 gallons left, usually around 300-330miles. I average from 13-15.5mpg mostly highway.

I've got the 30 gallon tank. when I got the light, I filled up immediately and put 26.5 gallons into it. Every Ford I've ever owned does this also. My Mustang has a 15 gallon tank that uses 10-11 gallons if I fill here when the low light comes on.
