Dad wants to join the crew...

So my Dad(currently a chevy owner) wants to come to the Ford side. He is looking for an extended cab, FX4. He is trying to decide between used(04+) and brand new. What is a good price he should pay for a new FX4? What are you guys getting yours at?

I walked out the door at $39k fully loaded FX4... I don't think my X-Plan helped much...

Although my payments are high I love driving my dream vehicle

I finally made him realize Ford is the way to go! but he is looking for an extended cab not a crew cab so i'm thinking he can get out cheaper than 39K... seems like I have heard of some people getting out below 30K with an extended cab 4x4.

Depending on how optioned out he goes, I would say $27,500 to $33,500. Also depends on rebates etc

I, for instance got my 2005 screw lariat 4x2 for $30,300 otd including 8.25% tax, licence, etc

I got my dad's for him which is the same as mine, but 4x4 and with audiophile, stickered at 42,500 for $31,000~ OTD.

Mind you, those are smoking deals...but you get the point.

I picked up my '05 FX4 brand new last June for $26,500...originally stickered for $37,000. When I bought mine, the dealer still had four or five more 2005s and a ton of 2006s on the lot. I'm not sure if you could still find a new 2005, but I'm sure there are dealers with some '06s they would unload for alot less than sticker price.

Payment wise, he could probably get a new FX4 cheaper with Ford's 0% financing than buy a used truck with typical used-car financing charges.

Prices will vary significantly from dealer to dealer. Large dealers are offering $10K under MSRP on F-150's. Mid-sized dealers seem to negotiate from Invoice. Smaller dealers often start at MSRP minus rebates, and that's all they can do. Some dealers will offer top dollar for trade-ins, others will offer poor condition trade-in value at best.

I got my 07 FX4 $1500 under Invoice, minus $4250 in rebates plus 0% financing. It all depends on the dealer and your ability to negotiate.

My 04 supercab fx4 stickered for 35000 but when my dad bought it new he walked away with it for 29000. Not too bad IMO. I bougt it off of him a little over a year ago and now i've got 62k on it with no problems

2005 Loaded (except no leather) FX4 stickered at 39K. Out the door for 28K.

Good luck!

Just a question in general... are F150 prices trending back up?

I know in '05 and '06 there were so many rebates and incentives, it was insane... is it still that way?

A co-worker of mine just bought one for 33k. It would have been 30K but he took the 0% financing in lieu of the 3k rebate.
