Fords wiring is all color coded, and his instructions are VERY VERY Clear! If you can use a screwdriver and a socket, you got it made. I would let my 13 year old Son install it on my truck! It's that easy, and goof proof! Travis usually has his cell phone on most of the time, and you probably could call him a head of time, and he would keep his phone on while you are installing it. That is why so many people here purchase his products.
i got my 791xv off shop.com for 178 and then the bypus module the directed 555u for 29 bucks. Then i got it installed for 100 bucks.. If i was you ide pay someone to install it, that way if you have a problem you can just take it to them and get it fixed. i LOVE the unit and especially the remote start!
hey wxscpo, what part of MS are you in?
On the shock sensor, it can't be disabled, however you can adjust the sensor yourself. take a precision screwdriver and adjust it. I adjust mine on the time of year it is. summer time, crooks are out moore, so I turn it to the highest sensitivity. Winter time, turn it about halfway.
Anyway, I would get the CA that you are looking at, an Ungo, a Clifford, or an Avital. For the remote start you will need the bypass and a non cut, non programmed key. Me and another guy installed mine. I have an ungo 2-way.

Travis is running a special right now on the CA670. Anybody have any idea how long his specials usually last? Don't want to miss out on a good deal, but family vacation is coming up and really hate to rob from that fund.
Thanks again to all for their inputs.
Well looks like I won't be going with the CA670 because none of the shops around here can install that type. One only installs DEI systems and the other two only install systems installed at their shops. The shop that only installs DEI systems said I could bring in a Viper system and they would install it for $360. I was like $360 just for install???? Needless to say I won't be going with them.
I did get an install price of $350 for a Compustar 2 way paging system. If I bump it up to include remote start the price jumps to $500 installed. Going to check one more shop.

Ungo, Clifford, Avital, are what I consider to be the better DEI alarms. honestdee or honestdk, on ebay, can get you any DEI on product cheaper than what they are going to sell it to you for. Especially in the area of the bypass module etc...
as well as alarms.
as well as alarms.

Keep in mind that Travis's Code Alarm CA670 will tie into your door motor wires allowing you to arm and disarm the alarm system with hte key pad on your door. There is no other system out there that does that other than the Ford systems that are made by guess who......Code Alarm. Not a huge deal but is a nice feature to have.
Plus with the 670 you can add the Car-Link. This allows you to arm/lock, disarm/unlock, and remote start your vehicle from a telephone. I use mine all the time since my work building won't let my remote signal reach my truck. I just call it up with the phone and start it up. Travis talked me through how to set it up on my phone to auto-dial each prompt. Works great.
As for the wiring. Not two tough. The F150 is a very simple truck compaired to others out there. With Travis's instructions he makes it quite simple. Plus if you get in any jams or just need to confirm something he's just a phone call away. His instructions come with pictures, location and color of the wire, what it will show with a test light, what tools he recommends and even how to make your connections. He's been installing for like 16 years. Knows his stuff and customer service to match.

I ended up going with the Compustar and am very happy with it. Everything installed, including remote start and remote paging system was $450. Now that's it's getting hotter down her eon the gulf coast it is great to be able to sit in my office and start up the truck and have the A/C running 5 minutes before walking out.
