Edge Spark Alert. What is it?

I have an Edge Evo in my 04 FX4 on level 2 with no custom programming. When I start the engine the Edge flashes the spark alert. I tried updating and the problem is worse now as it flashes longer on start up and at times will flash for a second or two when idling around town(low RPM lugging). What is the spark alert? What does it mean? Is there a way to turn off individual alerts on the Edge? Please help, this is annoying!

I have the same problem on my Edge, spark alert at start up and while driving, My truck is an 06 and I just installed it on Friday and I have updated with no luck, I wrote Edge an email about the issue and have yet to hear back from them. I also posted this same question over the weekend with little response from the community hopefully this will bring more response.

There ia a option to "turn off" all alerts. Just scroll thru the menu.

Have you tried upping the number for spark alert to the highest Edge will allow?

But no...there is no way to turn off individual alerts. I think it's an all or none thing.

I finally talked to Edge today after being on hold FOREVER. They said the spark alert has something to do with timing on supercharged engines and is not really relevant on a stock engine. They said temperature, advanced timing at start up etc. could trip it and I should just turn that alert off. He said I could turn just that alert off and still have the others which turns out is B.S. Its all or nothing on the alerts.
I tried adjusting the alert all the way up to 60(highest) and still does it. Tonight I turned it down to -20(lowest) and will see in the morning if it does it on a cold start.
I'm a little disappointed in Edges tech support. Not only did they offer me nothing useful, what they did tell me was wrong!

Odd - the Edge is not the type of tuner one would use (safely) on a supercharged engine to begin with, & makes no sense either, which makes me suspect their whole response.

Sounds like they just blew you off ...

I agree, I felt like they just wanted to get me off the phone.
I have tried setting the spark parameters at both extremes and it does the same thing. I guess the only thing to do now is turn off the alerts which sucks because I wanted the temp. alerts on when towing. At least I can still monitor them on the screen. I am pretty happy with the Edge as far as monitoring and performance, but suspect if you ever do have problems and need help from their service tech. your screwed!

I did the same as you, setting the spark numbers from + 60 to -20 and it still did the same thing, sure I turned off my alerts but by doing so I am not getting what I paid for, I expect to be able to use all of the product not just some of it.
I also emailed Edge on Monday and today is Thursday with no answer yet. They website says someone will will get back to you right away. NOT

Edge was just bought by MSD(Dashhawk). I suspect a lot of change will occur.Usually customer service suffers during a merger.

Well, I'm on board with the Spark Alert. My '05 does the same thing but mainly when it's cold. One could assume it's when the engine retards the timing on cold starts and the edge only sees the timing out of 'normal' range. I'd say the alert stops within 10-20 seconds on cold start-up...something I can live with for now. Does anyone know if Edge will come out with an update regarding this?

Chalk me up for the spark alert... the number i remember was 16230 or something... If you can only adjust from -20 to 60 what the hell is that number???? I agree Edge tech support does suck, if i have a problem ill attempt to troubleshoot myself rather than call

Mine hasn't has that spark alert pop up since I've had it for 6 months.
