My truck burned up last night
Has anybody heard any issues with the 04 F-150 and electrical problems? The reason I ask is because my F-150 burned up last night due to what looks like an electrical problem from the engine compartment. The truck is totalled. It started last night around 3am about an hour after I got home. I heard the alarm go off and when I went outside, the whole engine area and roof were on fire. Luckily nobody was hurt. It took the fire department about 45 minutes to put it out and they believe it was started to due to an electrical problem.
I have to meet with the insurance adjuster tomorrow to determine the cause but wanted to know if anybody has heard this to be a problem with the F-150s? I'm sure if this was a problem, I would have heard about it by now. I will try and post some pics today sometime to show the damage.
Thanks in advance.

The only thing I've added in the engine area is an air intake kit and I also had a custom Borla dual exhaust system I installed a couple of years ago.

Sorry to hear about that man, that is awful. This is the first incident I've heard of 04+ F150s having underhood fires.I witnessed a coworkers 99 F150 go up in flames in the parking lot at work because of the cc.
Good luck with your insurance co..

Here if your car catches on fire do to an electrical problem and you have an aftermarket radio or alarm installed thats automaticaly what its blamed on. Insurance still pays but they wont dig into it to actually find a real cause...they just blame it on the aftermarket stuff.
