sounds like the ballast isnt getting enough power to ignite them... are you talking about when you hit unlock on your keyfob?... or just when you are turning the switch to manually turn them on? You cannot leave your headlight setting on the auto position b/c everytime you lock or unlock your truck you will get a strobe light show. With that being said, i never had any problems getting them to turn on by turning the switch to manually turn them on.
What kit are you using?

btw - congrats on the new truck!

I bought this kit http://cm.ebay.com/cm/ck/1065-29392-...m=230094184478. I go in and manual turn them on to the on position. Do i need to get relays or anything and my kit is not a plug and play i thought it was but theres no harness that fits into the oem connector. and i did not splice into the wires all i did was sick wires into the oem connector to see if it would put out enuff current to boot it up and also i tryed hooking a wire straight to the battery. and it still flickered i only tryed to install one side.

DUDE........get pics of these ASAP. You have to crank the truck up so they can get enough voltage to stay lit up. I was reading about these and apparently these are Bi-Xenon and actually move the arc placement for high or low beam. Tell me how well this works, I am VERY interested in these if they properly move the arc for high or low beam and not look like some of the other kits where the high beam is on all the time.

Matt,

If you read the Ebay add closely, in small print it says that it has Halogen high beam and HID low beam and is not Bi-Xenon.

If you take a picture of the bulb, ballasts, and wires i'm sure I, or someone else here will be able to help you out. I have them in my truck but they're just the low beam only and I put a wire harness with a relay and 2 seperate fuses and mine have never flickered ever, even when unlocking. maybe thats all you need.

Hey guys thanks for you help i think i figured it out i will have to install it tomarrow. I think i have to use a relay so i can get a stronger current going to the ballast. connecting it straight to wireing harness is not strong enuff.

I had the same problem with my hids you have to use a relay, 87 goes to battery, 86 goes to ground ,85 goes to the output from the trucks headlight 30 goes to the hid postive wire, the other wire from the hid goes to ground

is the "flickering" killing the ballast. I always try to stop it as soon as I can by putting the key in the ignition. Use a RELAY, that seems to help everyone.

Thats where I got mine. They have two kinds, a wiring harness and a relay harness. I've been using the wiring harness with no problems. It's got a 20 amp fuse per light and then a relay. But scince you have the high beam option you might want to get the relay harness, it might have a little more amperage for the extra draw from the highbeams.

add a relay...this will take power direct from battery and use switch to activate the relay..hid lights use alot of power at inital start up but then come down once ballast is charged
