i know most of u have seen, read about or asked about this.. but heres the thing.. my freind just (tonight) put one on his range rover.. (old model) and immediatley noticed a difference he says..
he said that his rpms are lower, (which saves gas), his acceleration is increased, and his shifting is different..
when i heard this i luaghed.. bc of all the ***** i heard about it on here.. and logically, ts doesnt make sence, to me it seems that it would restrict more then anything.. but
if anyone has actually tried it or if someone with good knowledge about airflow and stuff for engines could say anything, i would appreciate it..
once again, he says he felt a big progression, and his truck was slow as hell..

I'd possibly believe it on a carburated engine or an old fuel injection system where fuel was injected prior to the manifold since it could help to blend the A/F mix. But in a modern fuel injected engine the fuel is injected just prior to the air entering the cylinder I just don't believe it would do any good adding turbulence far upstream of this point. I'd bet my house that adding that thing does nothing to help and could only hamper your engine. If adding a ten cents worth of tin really increased FE and power don't you think the manufacturers would already have them there.

I tried the very similar "Tornado" on my 4.0L Explorer had it on for about 350 miles and the mileage was considerably worse, probably close to 3/4 of normal.

They DO NOT WORK! Do not buy into this scam! I have read article after article on these proclaiming miracle devices. I drive 80 miles roundtrip to work and would definately love for these to be true. But just simply put they are nothing more than a way for u to throw away $40. I was not willing to buy 1 but my younger brother on the other hand was willing to toss his money away. Come on now... The manufacturer's of these devices are hoping most people will say exactly what one of you guys said. It's only 20 bucks.... They can make a boat load of money from all of those, what the heck buys....

Here's the funny part, the 3V 5.4 already has that built into the intake, they're called "charge motion control valves" and the purpose is to tumble the air to promote better mixing of the air/fuel for more complete combustion. The Tornado and all similar devices simply don't work because they are installed at the entrance of the air intake. They do swirl the air but it doesn't carry all the way to the engine.
How about you hand me the 20 your going to spend on this and I'll kick you in the *****. This way, you'll at least get something out of your 20 bucks besides a coke can that has been sliced up.

im sorry if you buy this your stupid. want a test buy it and stick it on someones vehicle without telling, girlfriend mom whoever, they will have no idea its in there. have you ever tried to rub aluminum on rubber. not exactly a ball bearing. If anything it would impede (probably spelled wrong) air flow.
