Run Sirius/XM and your iPod through the same PIE...
I just finished a quick and cheap mod. I have a Sirius Sportster hooked up to my Alpine CDA-9813 through a PIE that is plugged in my Ai-Net through a cable that looks kind of like this:

I thought is was cool that I could disconnect the 1/8 jack from the Sportster and plug it into the iPod and play it that way. It got kind of annoying pretty quickly to have to reach behind and unplug it each time, so I popped the panel off to have look. I then ran to "the Shack" and picked up a couple of RCA Y-Adapters (Single Male, Dual Female) and a Monster Brad iPod cable, which is simply an 1/8 inch to RCA cable. I just wanted to get one that was nicer than the standard "Shack" brand.
Install is simple...
Plug the splitters into the PIE RCA.
Hook the Male RCAs from the Sirius to the red and black splitter
Hook the new iPod cable into the red and black splitter
Turn on whatever you want to use, iPod or Sirius and play away through your HU!
All in all, I got out of there for about $28. On the way home I stopped by the local Ace hardware and picked up a rubber grommet and headed home to install everything. About 30 mins later, I was done. There are a few pics in my gallery. Here are some of the highlights...

You will need two Splitters with a single male end and two female ends.
Plug each of those into your PIE Red and Black.
Plug the cable for the iPod into one end of the red and one end of the black.
Plug the other device (XM/Sirius/whatever) into the open ends of the splitters.
It should work perfectly. It did for me. I am not on a stock radio, but I am going to assume that it wouldn't matter much.
The catch is that whatever device you are not listening to should be powered off while listening to the other.
Hope this helps.
