I remember seeing on the news not too long ago that alot of Fords were being stolen and driven to mexico. They even had video of people stealing them right out of a dealership !! I live in a gated community, i always park close to where people can watch my truck, and i do alot of things to be safe, but like someone said before it can happen at anytime.

So when I lock my vehicles, i through the keys in the gas cap door, ive done it for over a year. Thats where my keys were when it was stolen? Am I a complete idiot, or does anyone else do that ? (PS. , i live in a small town, this is very rare to happen)
I'm just reading this now, yeah it was dumb to leave the keys where a thief could find them. I figured it had to be something like this, almost all the F150's I've heard were stolen were because the owner left the keys where they could be easily found (like in the ignition with the engine running ).

Sorry buddy, I no longer have any sympathy for you!

^yep, small town = bored kids. some kid probably saw where you put your keys and decided to take your truck for a joy ride and trash it.

ok ok i get the point, yes it was dumb. i dont know if i already mentioned this but i just got into a habit of doing that because i always park out in front of my house, have my truck and a small gas saver, and i always grabbed the wrong set of keys, or forgot where i put one set or locked them in the wrong vehicle, so I just started putting them in the gas cap. Also, in the morning i go to the gym, so I always have shorts on and never have anywhere to put them, its just something dumb i never thought would mean anything. I never though someone would steal it, the only reason i even locked it is so noone would steal things OUT of it, not the entire truck! But yeah i get the truck back today, im having it towed to the body shop. If its not totalled im going to have to get it fixed, anyone have a truck ther eparting out with good front end parts? I know for shure it needs almost everything on the front. Do 07 bumpers fit onto 04 bumpers? With the round fog lights? Because mines demolished anyhow. I will need new wheels and tires (stocks fine), new rear bumper, new gauge cluster, and some smallother things. like i said ill post pictures tonight. later

I am pretty sure that they won't consider that a write-off. Did they use your keys or did they tamper with the ignition?

I'll be surprised if insurance doesn't fix it. As long as there isn't any frame damage you should be alright.
